"The listing photos do not do justice for this adorable little cottage."
The location is stunning, and the cottage is so nice and cozy, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
-
"Ardmore one of the best holiday cottages we have rented on Skye very clean and comfortable."
We would definitely go back
-
"Lovely house in a beautiful location with very accommodating hosts."
We very much enjoyed our stay.
-
"We loved the property, does exactly what it says on the tin!"
Especially enjoyed the reclining sofa’s to lay back and watch the Sunset of an evening. Owner popped by first evening to see if we were ok and had everything needed and then left us in peace. We loved sitting outside on a clear evening Star Gazing, very peaceful. If you want to get away away from it all, this is the perfect place.
-
"If you like remote this is place for you."
The sunsets and night sky are amazing. Like some roads on Skye this cottage is up a single track road, with passing places so take your time and enjoy views.
-
"Beautiful Cottage very homely, the owner left cleaning products in the cottage and a welcome tray with tea, coffee and biscuits."
The cottage is very rural with no shops locally so please bear this in mind however this is what we love it was very peaceful.

"Beautiful home, even better than the photo tow."
Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thanks!
-
"Lovely property, very comfortable sofas, so nice you had thought about an the small details and left so many kitchen items washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, tin foil, kitchen roll, salt, pepper, oil etc etc Fantastic ever changing views, we loved our stay."
-
"Well designed and equipped cottage, very well maintained."
Owner close by to troubleshoot any issues. Spacious for 2 - 4 guests with good parking. Visitors need to be well-organised as nearest shop is 12 miles away and supermarket shopping in Portree a 40 minute drive. Superb restaurants available in nearby villages, but they book up days to weeks in advance, so may wish to book before arrival during holiday season. Excellent area for walking or bird watching, both from cottage and across island. Very enjoyable week.

"This was a real gem."
Absolutely home from home in terms of comfort and a very well appointed kitchen. There are stunning views from the lounge and walks from the doorstep. It was so peaceful despite there being two glamping pods which were occupied during our stay.
-
"Really nice stay."
Great location. Fantastic modern bungalow. Great views. Nice garden. Nice easy 3 mile bike ride to a very nice pub with great food.
-
"A clean and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location."
Lovely views of The Western Isles from the front windows and interesting walks from the door. Notes telling us not to abuse the property or steal cutlery were necessary and detracted from the welcome. If you are looking for the isolation that the location suggests, you should be aware that there is a glamping pod in the garden and foundations are being prepared for a second one.

"A lot of money for what it is !"

"Very nice cottage, clean and comfortable."
We enjoyed our 2 nights stay and it’s only about an hour drive from the amazing Quiraing mountains! The only improvement would be to replace the washer/dryer because you can barely dry your clothes with 1/4 load maximum. But that’s a small detail, everything else was just great.

"-No había indicaciones claras para llegar a la casa, tuvimos que llamar por teléfono al tfno de Booking y seguir sus indicaciones, es decir, un horror después de un viaje largo."
-No había indicaciones de cómo usar el agua caliente, la calefacción..... -La ropa de cama no era blanca, era muy vulgar y de mala calidad. -Todo era muy básico y precario, no la recomendaría jamás. Ha sido una mala experiencia, no contrataremos una similar nunca.

"This is a lovely cottage which is well equipped and warm."
The only adverse comment I would make is that more attention to detail regarding cleaning of some kitchen utensils - this would not stop me from booking the cottage again. We were quite surprised at how remote it was and after thinking that we had made a mistake we had the most fantastic week there. It was a different holiday as we are not what I would call walkers but even if you are not a "walker" there are some lovely easy walks to do. The cottage is located on a single track road, however, every road user we came across was polite regarding stopping in the passing places - of which there are many. You will enjoy the big dark skies and wonderful views across to the Outer Hebrides and spectacular sunsets. We were blessed with lovely sunny days and on one of our walks we spotted two white tailed sea eagles - fantastic..

"We enjoyed every minute!"
Weather was good, didn't rain the whole week, temperature went up to 14℃. Quiet place, lovely people! Plenty of places to visit in a week! The cottage was spacious, clean, good view and with loads of facilities. Couldn't ask for more! Thank you for the lovely stay!

"If you are looking to get away from it all Ardmore is the accommodation for you."
The peace quiet and tranquility was absolutely fantastic. The cottage has amazing views which you can appreciate from the sofa. Its light airy and comfortable. It is well equipped and was a wonderful base to stay on Skye.

"The holiday was amazing,we went for long walks, sight seeing all over Isle of Skye."
Then going back to the Ardmore cottage was so relaxing,it was like home from home.we would recommend to everyone. We hope to go back in September.

"The cottage was clean and comfortable."
It was the view from the lounge window that kept us spellbound. Watching the changing light over the sea and the ever- changing cloud formations was fascinating. The newborn lambs in field opposite kept us entertained and amused. We didn't need to watch any tv! And then, of course, there were the beautiful sunsets! It was a perfect spot! We loved it.

"It was freezing cold, and the fuel burner wouldn't stay lit."
The shower didn't get hot, so we couldn't use it. The hot tap in the bathroom was very difficult to turn off. But overall we were happy with the cottage. It wouldn't put me off using Sykes cottages again.
-
"Lovely cottage, extremely comfortable."
-
"The taps were a little difficult to shut completely and we could not get the cooker hood to work."
Otherwise a simple, comfortable cottage in an out of the way location, perfect for a little RnR away from the hustle and bustle of London.
-

About the location
DUNVEGAN
Portree 22 miles.
The village of Dunvegan is set in the north west of Skye and contains a mixture of traditional stone and modern houses, along with a selection of shops and hotels. About a mile from the village is Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod, who have continuously occupied the castle since the 13th century. Only four miles away is the famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a must for all foodies, and just a 10 minute walk away is the very popular Old School Restaurant, also worth a visit. Also in the area are the Cullin Mountains with their fantastic rock forms and pinnacles, which many climbers would put at the top of their list. Other attractions on the Isle are plentiful - visit the Talisker Distillery or Portree, the island’s only town, set around its natural harbour, which boasts an excellent range of shops, hotels and restaurants, and also offers Sea Eagle trips from the pier, which are extremely popular.
