The property

This idyllic, semi-detached bungalow rests in rural surroundings near to the village of Acharacle on the west coast of Scotland.

Rose Cottage is well-equipped for families or couples looking to get away from it all and relax amidst this beautiful part of Scotland.

Enter this charming bungalow into the cloakroom where you can hang our coats and dry off your pooch after a long walk in the countryside.

The spacious sitting room will welcome your return with two plush sofas and an alluring woodburning stove to curl up beside, plus the addition of a flat-screen TV and WiFi to keep the kids occupied.

Wander into the kitchen to find the essential appliances for a countryside break, along with a dining table where you can delight upon a family feast for four.

The two bedrooms consist of a double and twin and offer the perfect setup for a family.

For moments of relaxation, head outside to sit at the picnic bench, with only the occasional chirps of birds disturbing the peace and quiet.

Just over two miles away is the village of Acharacle where you’ll find a shop/Post Office and some cafés/tea rooms.

The area boasts outstanding coastal scenery and whether you’re seeking scenic walking/hiking, cycling, angling, sailing, canoeing/kayaking or more.

The outdoor potential doesn’t stop there as there is also an RSPB reserve within driving distance with wonderful walks and wildlife and where you may experience many birds that live and visit the area, including the golden eagle and the rare white-tailed eagle.

Venture to the coast and explore many great, white sandy beaches to relax upon and marvel at the turquoise waters - you may even spot dolphins and whales if you’re lucky enough!

About the location

ACHARACLE

Dalnabreac 3 miles, Salen 6 miles, Glenbordale 9.5 miles

The village of Acharacle is situated on the West coast of Scotland on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The village sits at the western end of Loch Shiel, close to the village of Salen on Loch Sunart. The area is surrounded by wonderful wilderness, and is steeped in history including strong links to the MacDonalds, Lords of the Isles. The village itself has a village store and a small bakery as well as a fish and chip cafe, small hotel with public bar, restaurant and a Post Office close by. Within a short drive there are quality hotels offering good food, and an array of outdoor activities. Why not try some sea-kayaking at Glenuig Inn, who offer full or half day trips into the Sound of Arisaig? Combine this with some bird spotting, with golden and white-tailed eagles nesting close by, or perhaps simply put on your boots and walk some of the wonderful pathways in this area. Ardnamurchan has some lovely sandy beaches just waiting to be found and you can even take a short ferry trip across to the Isle of Mull.
