The Sofas are showing their age and pillows need replacing. Flowers were a nice touch. Highly recommended for wildlife and walking. The views from the lounge were outstanding. Wild life visits the garden.

  • "A lovely cottage in a beautiful area."

Having travelled and stayed all over the Highlands this was our first time on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is well equipped and set in a peaceful location, regular visits from the local Red Deer and an abundance of garden birds. Secure garden with ample parking for the car. Only suggestion for the owners, as other guests have mentioned, would be a larger TV in the lounge. It's a large room and you're sat quite far away from the set so after a long day out it's difficult to enjoy any TV in the evenings.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Rose Cottage and enjoyed the beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsular with all the wonderful things to do there, the scenery and wild life. I have noted other guests comments and have bought a new TV. Property Owner

TV far to small for the room and reception nearly non existent needs sky kitchen needs a radio or tv bathroom needs updating toilet seat loose and washbason comes away from the wall also the garden needs a lot of attention very untidy and paths full of weeds sorry to complain but at these prices we expect everything to be A1

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at Rose Cottage. The bathroom is to be upgraded this winter. The gardener had been away for two weeks due to family comments. We do not have sky and found nothing wrong with the reception from the freesat box after you had left. Our guests find the TV perfectly adequate as they spend most of their time out exploring the local area. Property Owner

An ideal base to see what the stunning area of Ardnamurchan has to offer. We found Rose Cottage clean, spacious and warm and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or use it again. We had deer yards away from the lounge window, golden eagle over the hillside and an osprey over the river below. The neighbours were extremely friendly but not obtrusive. It was the perfect place for us and was quiet and peaceful.

  • "Clean, comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a quiet row of houses near the river."

Plenty of walks right from the door or after a short drive. The storage heaters were more than adequate to keep the house warm in September. The owner was made aware that one of the two lounge ones needs fixing and was very helpful on the phone. There is a log-burning stove in the lounge in any case. Reliable wifi, maybe a little slower than city speeds, but fine for emails and browsing.

Could not fault the cottage in any way and the wood burning fire was a great bonus. Views from the windows where amazing... from the numerous birds at the feeders, a passing red deer stag and the local sheep and gang of chickens to the Milky way at night.... magical. Dog friendly ... and Reilly loved it too. We had snow, gales and hail.... making cosying up in front of the fire even more welcome. Would highly recommend and hope to return next winter

  • "A superb cottage - very warm and spacious."

one of the best we have stayed in and was a delight to return to at the end of the day. A couple of small points - there is a notice by the sink saying £100 would be charged for any blockages - this could also be helped by the inclusion of a cheap sink drainer to prevent items being washed into the sink drain. The TV is getting on a bit and the lcd screen is past its sell by date and in a room as big as the living room a bigger tv would be better. Also both the sky and tv remotes did not function. The freesat was not working and even the contact person and her son could not get it to work so for the 2 weeks we were without that facility. Apart from that - the cottage was one we would be happy to use again as the overall comfort and the kitchen (and utensils) was of a very high standard. The roads are easily driven with care and by using the correct passing places and we did not once have any problems along the single track roads but people must be aware that it will take time to get to places as there are a lot of lochs in the way of any direct route :) The scenery, which is what we went for, was superb and the living room and main bedroom window gave a great view. Overall - a 9 out of 10 for the cottage

Given travelling time /distance and late arrival often the case. With limited opening time of local shop, it would have been useful to have a few essentials supplied like bread and milk, tea etc. I suppose not able to fo because of Covid. Some great local walks from cottage and that could be made clear to guests. E. G at end of land onto Moor to mouth of Loch. Also across bog along track to Kentra Bay.

  • "The cottage was spacious clean and well equipped."

The views out of the back of the cottage (living room) were lovely and the garden was bigger than we have had when staying in previous cottages. I think what people need to be aware of is how remote this is from tourist attractions in terms of time due to the single track roads. There are several good pubs which have a good menu and welcome dogs within 10-15 minutes drive.

Clean and very good enclosed garden and lovely view out back. Only disappointment was although lots of dvd were provided there were not instructions for the dvd and it did not appear to be connected to anything. Some simple instructions would have been useful. • "Rose Cottage was very fairly described and met our expectations for a budget cottage."

The beds were very comfortable and the log burner was well stocked and made the place very cosy. It is a lovely quiet spot with beautiful views of the mountains. However, in view of the pandemic I felt the cottage could have been cleaner. It clearly had only had a standard clean, not a deep clean - the TV remote controls, for example, were filthy and some of the plates were not as well washed as they could have been. Despite this it was a lovely week and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a cheaper, basic option.
