• "The property was spotlessly clean and moder and the location and g was first class,however during our stay we were disappointed with the garden,grass at least 6 inches high,garden furniture could not be used as there were no cushions,no clothes line or clothes stand."

  Inside the sofas look lovely but are totally impractical as the pink one is so low,you are practically sitting on the floor. In both bedrooms light bulbs in main ceiling lights need replacing. We contacted the owner during our stay but one of the issues were remedied,all excuses ..a dog had chewed the garden cushions and the owner decided to replace them next season,told that the washing dryer was in the cupboard,we assured her it wasn't,we were then told to dry the washing on the radiators!. We would return to Highcliffe but not to Paradise Villa..the owner needs to address the issues,as all these issues could easily have been avoided.

• "Overall a lovely home from home."

  Pleasant south facing garden, attractive lounge and bedroom, clean and modern bathrooms, very good decoration. Would stay again. Had slight issue with only one key, the front door once unlocked, very easily closes and then you are locked out, particularly if you’re not used to this type of security door or you’ve not kept the key on you. I had left my phone in house while unpacking car. Thankfully, the next door neighbour had owners phone number and she very happily was able to get the housekeeper to come and let us back in, averting disaster! We had a great week as plenty things to do nearby

• "Bungalow was lovely, bright, clean , all you could need in kitchen."

  Good smart tv . No problem with wifi. Showers great. Ideal garden for dogs. Easy check in and owner kindly let us vacate an hour later than specified. Good location, shop just round corner, 6 min walk to nearest pub and 12 min walk to dog friendly pub. Just 2 minor points - bath towels could be larger and bedding could do with renewing but apart from that we had a brilliant stay and would definitely return.

• "Fabulous cottage."

  Very spacious and clean with a great enclosed back garden Perfect location to explore Dorset Good facilities close by including a Tesco express and a lovely beach bar which is a short walk

• "Return stay, great location, clean and has now had a microwave added which is useful, only down side is the mattress in the smaller room is not comfortable, would benefit from a mattress topper if not replacing."

  Sun can get a bit much in the lounge with not having any window covering. Like that it has bin bags, washing up liquid and body wash and other essentials :-)

• "A very comfortable and pleasant property ."

  An ideal location to visit and explore the local area . We would recommend Christchurch , Lymington , Ringwood and Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. Would definitely like to book again in the future .

• "Overall was great, thanks, a lovely property and great location."

  Minor niggles which if changed would make the stay even nicer; Very soft mattress in the main bedroom, everyone has a preference, ours would have been for firmer. Lawn had been mowed but not recently enough in the growing season to avoid long patches of grass which were less dog friendly for present collecting.. perhaps invest in a robot mower? Lounge/kitchen room got very hot in the afternoon sun, lovely if that is what you like. Perhaps some curtains/blinds to allow people to keep the sun/heat out of they prefer (looked like similar had been installed in the past). Hot water for the bath wasn't sufficient, went cold very quickly. Might be a swing tweak for the boiler that we could have done but would be useful to be set more helpfully for others who like baths. Overall, had a lovely stay and would recommend.

• "I found there was some elements where lack of cleanliness was a concern which I took photos of, and reported this on."

  The garden needed a mow and the furniture was broken which makes it unsafe. The oven isn't fixed in its housing. The second bed was lumpy and was hard to sleep in. Again reported. All pillows were very low grade as well. I would not recommend apart from a good location

• "Our stay was generally pleasant, the property is bright, airy and had a nice layout."

  Check in was smooth and instructions were provided well in advance. The host is prompt with responses to queries. Things to note: the bed in the small room is very uncomfortable, the mattress needs replacing. There’s no microwave which may not be an issue for others but we needed to sterilise baby bottles so it was a bit of a nuisance using pots and pans. The kitchen is otherwise very well equipped. Although the listing states there’s heating, the controls have been removed so you can’t actually use it which feels a bit dishonest and the weather was quite cool and rainy whilst we were there and we couldn’t dry our clothes. At the time of booking the property was listed as detached, it’s semi detached but this was not an issue and didn’t affect our stay. There’s plenty of storage space for belongings. The garden is a nice place to sit and eat (grass needs cutting though). Overall we were happy with our stay but we would not return purely because the bed give me awful backache!

We would like to clarify that in the description of our Paradise villa, it is noted that it is a semi-detached property, it is not mentioned that there is a microwave, only an electric oven. Due to the heat in the house, an electric air heater was provided, since it was not the heating season, the heating equipment was not ready, so we are very sorry that you had to experience such inconveniences. • "We had a lovely week."

  The bungalow was spotless & had everything we needed. The garden was secure which meant we could let our dogs roam free without any worry. Bathrooms are both very nice & both showers were powerful. Brilliant location. Walk to high street, Tesco express, beach & pubs. Short drive to larger shops, Christchurch & numerous beaches. Would definitely recommend ☺️

• "The location of this property was just right for us."

  Close enough to nice beaches, a nice local pub and a small supermarket. It is also quiet enough to relax in the evenings. The facilities provided were welcome and the home was clean and well-kept. The layout is also nice. Really light and airy. The garden is quite cute as well. I don't think the listing should describe the property as a detached bungalow - it is certainly not detached! This should be amended on the advert, as it is false. It didn't negatively impact our stay, but I do think the reference to a detached property makes it seem more luxurious than it is. I would say that it was overpriced for what you get. We paid just under £1,000 for 4 nights in the middle of July. We may have stayed again if the price was more realistic. We're going to Christchurch again at the end of August but we've chosen another property. Paradise Villa is advertised at a whopping £1,380 for 4 nights at the end of August. It is a lovely little bungalow but it is definitely not worth that amount. It's a good 45-minute walk to Avon Beach and 10-minute drive into Christchurch. Highcliffe beach is a 5-minute walk away but the best beach for utilities etc is Avon beach. So in summary, this holiday home is lovely - clean and a lovely layout - and the location is good. However, it's not detached and definitely not worth upwards of £900 for 4 nights. I would expect to pay that if it was closer to Mudeford and Christchurch centre.

From Saturday to Saturday. 7 nights at Highcliffe Hotel for two people without pets or children costs more than you paid for a two bedroom villa with garden and your pet.And we are very sorry that there was an error in the Sykes cottages house description regarding detached bungalow. • "Great location, lovely property."

  Two mins walk to high street with cafes, bakers, supermarkets and takeaways. A 10 min walk to beach, which is dog friendly in parts. Only small issues we found was mattresses particularly in smaller room wasn't comfy and in bigger room was really quite soft. Washing machine wasn't working which we reported, it had been broken the week before, and waiting repair which is fair enough. The week we stayed was quite wet and not warm enough really to dry clothes outside. We searched but could not find heating controls, needed to dry damp jackets and jeans etc
