  • "The cottage was lovely, really a home-from-home."

Very well-equipped, and thoughtfully decorated, not just identikit short-term let but genuinely nice things. The location in East Cowes is really good. We stayed for a week and it really couldn't have been more convenient and welcoming.

Set across two levels and boasting an open-plan layout whilst enjoying close proximity to the beach and a host of exciting attractions, 31 Kings Cottage makes an idyllic base for a small family or group of friends looking to explore the delights of the Isle of Wight.

Stepping inside, be charmed by the fabulous open-plan living space of this lovely dwelling, with a snug seating area gathered in front of the warming flame-effect fire welcoming you at the foot of the doorway, enticing you to kick off your shoes and unwind with a sumptuous seat in front of the TV.

When stomachs start to rumble, make your way through the sociable space and discover the well-equipped kitchen tucked away at the rear of the property, home to a wonderful range of facilities to assist with preparing tasty treats, including a gas oven and hob, and even a dishwasher to help keep your space neat and tidy; a washing machine is conveniently positioned in the adjoining utility, perfect for a sandy day at the beach.

Uncork a bottle of wine and gather together with your loved ones at the nearby dining table to indulge in your culinary delights before carrying the conversation outdoors to soak in the last of the evening sun in the peaceful setting of your private garden.

As the day draws to a close, climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find two sumptuous double bedrooms, each serviced by a bathroom tucked away on the ground floor, giving guests the choice between an indulgent soak amongst the bubbles or a quick morning rinse under the shower head.

Take a break from doing the cooking and treat your loved ones to an indulgent meal at the nearby pub, The Victoria Tavern, serving a menu prepared with locally sourced produce alongside a fantastic drink selection, perfect for all the family, including your furry friend, and if you time it right, you might even catch a spot of live music performed by bands from across the island!

Get better acquainted with your surroundings and head to East Cowes Marina, where you can watch the world go by as the elegant yachts sail across the tranquil waters of the River Medina, or if that's not your thing, test your swing with a round of golf at Osborne Golf Club or immerse yourself in local history with a tour of the Classic Boat Museum Gallery.

Whilst you're in the area, be sure to visit Queen Victoria's former summer house, Osbourne House, adorned with remarkable Italian-inspired décor, regal possessions and enveloped in immaculate landscaped gardens; a truly lovely spot to get away from it all.

Catch the ferry to the twin town of West Cowes, famed for its yachting centre and renowned as the birthplace of world yacht racing, here you can paddle the shores at Gurnard Bay, tour the National Trust property of East Rosetta Cottage, or marvel at the bronze mermaid resting upon the sea wall.

Avid outdoor adventurers can lace up their walking boots and embark on an adventure along The Isle of Wight Coastal Path, an exhilarating trail leading along the perimeter of the island, framing unspoilt sea views and passing coastal towns and village en-route.

With all of this and more, choose a stay at 31 Kings Road.
