    “The cottage was situated in a very noisy area due to the loading and unloading of the ferry which continues through the night.”

    We were not aware of this before booking & it did disturb us - especially as it was very hot so we needed the windows open.

The property

An absolutely stunning semi-detached coastal cottage, moments from the beach and directly on the Wootton to Ryde coastal footpath, in the hamlet of Fishbourne on the North East coast of the Isle of Wight.

The Cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, and has been equipped with many thoughtful extras for your enjoyment.

The private lit path of The Fishbourne pub car park, takes you straight to your cottage.

The bathroom is situated off of the entrance hall way and the immaculate kitchen will be found to your right, which opens out into the light and gorgeously furnished sitting and dining area packed with many original features, with big striking beams and an exquisite open fire place.

Upstairs there is a glamorous double bedroom and a dressing area.

Outside, is a lovely gravelled area with seating and a soothing water feature and to the side of the cottage is a table and chairs with a lit gazebo, perfect for making your alfresco dining that little bit more romantic.

Fishbourne is situated on the coastal path between Wootton and Ryde, perfect for walkers or mountain bikers alike.

Walk to Quarr Abbey and enjoy a cream tea or buy some of the Monk’s produce at their popular Farm Shop.

Just a minute’s walk away from The Cottage is the award-winning The Fishbourne, perfect for fine dining to enjoying a refreshing drink in their garden.

The Victorian seaside town of Ryde is only 2 miles away, with many restaurants, antique and boutique shops, and a beautiful golden sandy beach.

If you’re looking for a bit of pampering, you can always pop over to the spa at Lakeside Park Hotel and enjoy the facilities of their heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and many wonderful treatments.

Ryde 3 miles; Newport 5 miles.

Fishbourne is a small parish, about a mile from Wootton Bridge and only 2 miles from the seaside resort of Ryde. The parish is situated on the banks of Wootton Creek, a favourite mooring place for yachtsmen and the embarkation point for the Wightlink Portsmouth Ferry. The Isle of Wight coastal path passes through the community, which is well served by an excellent pub, and a shingle beach is exposed at low tide; great for paddling and fishing. There's so much to see and do in this lovely area catering for all tastes and ages, from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Queen Victoria's Osborne House, Quarr Abbey and Robin Hill Adventure Park. Ryde is just a short drive, offering 6 miles of superb sandy beaches, and numerous attractions including 10 pin bowling, and a boating lake as well as a great selection of shops and restaurants. In fact there's so much to do a week isn't nearly long enough!
