Island Riding Centre Cottages

This charming collection of cottages can be found resting on the outskirts of Newport town, within the rural setting of the Island Riding Centre on the beautiful Isle of Wight. Each of the dwellings feature traditional stable doors and a quirky plaque telling the history of the horse in which the house is named after, giving subtle nods to its equestrian surroundings. These stylish holiday homes are complete with a well-equipped kitchen where you will discover a plethora of sleek appliances such as a contemporary electric oven and hob and a dishwasher, so there's no need to worry about who will be washing the dishes. Enjoy an entertaining evening indoors with use of the Smart TV that has been linked to the centre's WiFi, so that you can enjoy a wide selection of movies from apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, or indulge in some alfresco dining at the outdoor dining table that can be found in each of the properties enclosed garden. Guests have the option to bring along their own horses throughout their stay, or even learn to ride for the first time with expert trainers. Both our Frankel and Red Rum cottages can sleep up to four guests and welcome two well-behaved pets, whilst Marengo, Sefton and Seabiscuit are pet-free properties. Marengo and Seabiscuit are both accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Our Marengo cottage sleeps five guests, whilst Sefton sleeps six and Seabiscuit sleeps a total of seven guests. Designated parking can be found to the cottages with an additional general car park available by the Equestrian Centre. The property

Set within the excitement of the Island Riding Centre in the rural Isle of Wight, you will find the attractive holiday cottage, Marengo.

Named after the famous war horse of the first consul of France, Napoleon I, this cottage boasts a subtle equestrian charm with beautiful stable doors and views of the nearby paddocks creating a peaceful retreat for families of five.

Enter into the welcoming embrace of the bright and airy hallway where you can learn of the rich history of the famous horse from the charming framed picture and text that hangs on the white painted walls.

Wander through into the open-plan living space and discover a lovely seating area and a spacious dining table, providing the perfect place to socialise with friends and family throughout your stay.

This room is also home to a pretty white country kitchen with attractive dark worktops and sleek appliances such as the electric oven and hob, which can be used to whip up a delicious meal for the whole family to feast on.

The ground floor also features a beautifully decorated single bedroom with crisp white bedding and accompanying furniture, as well as a stylish and contemporary wet room with a low-level sink making this property completely accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

A further two bedrooms can be found on the first floor within reaching distance of the bathroom where you can enjoy a long soak in the deep P-shaped bath.

A roomy super-king-size bedroom has been decorated with calming neutral tones and a sizable wardrobe for storing all of your belongings, whilst a snug twin bedroom provides a peaceful space for guests to retire to with a captivating book before settling down for the evening.

Make the most of the garden with some outdoor dining during the summer months and admire the views of the countryside.

The bustling town of Newport is situated on the banks of the navigable River Medina, and is the county town and administrative capital of The Isle of Wight. Being close to the centre of the island, Newport makes an excellent touring base with good road links to all the beaches, countryside and tourist attractions.
