  • "Very nice cottage in a lovely village with super walks available from the front door."

Everything was provided except we couldn’t find a cheese grater. The only negative point was the bathroom basin tap which was very loose. We did report this to the owner.

  • "A TV in the bedroom would be a great addition."

Car parking is a bit of a phaff as garage isn't very long and up a narrow lane. The garden path is over grown with Lavender which is slippery when wet. The road outside is noisy from 6am until 7pm. Good walks from outside the door. Comfy bed and good heating.

It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The garden and garage were real assets. It was located in a lovely village with interesting places to see and lovely walks.

  • "A lovey, cosy cottage and garden, well placed for visiting Gilbert White’s cottage, the Watercress line Steam railway and Winchester."

There are many beautiful walks in Selborne and maps and leaflets in the cottage were very helpful. We enjoyed our time eating meals in the well kept garden, listening to the birds and exploring the countryside.

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay at 1 Foresters Rest."

Such a charming cottage that was well equipped for a short or long holiday. The bed was extremely comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the cottage was at a high standard. The garden was beautifully kept and we enjoyed many sunny days in it on a great set of garden furniture. Found The Selborne Arms staff not very welcoming and food/drink too expensive. Would thoroughly recommend a trip to Gilbert White’s House and Gardens.

  • "What a super little cottage."

Everything was spotlessly clean and attn was paid to every little detail to make your stay carefree and enjoyable. THe owner came round at a moments notice for a minor issue ...turned out not an issue at all.... and was eager to make sure all was good. Comfortable private little garden. Having checked in and out of multi hotels, airbnb, etc on my trip, with far from perfect results....! you can guarantee a stay here will make you smile. I for one don't give praise easily unless well deserved. Well done Sykes Cottages...

The cottage was lovely, everything you needed was there,it's got a well maintained garden, full with colourful flowers, and a garage for a small to medium car, across the road there is a pub, Gilbert white house, which we would strongly recommend especially if your into the natural world, it's also got a nice cafe with a great selection of food, down the road is Jane Austen's house along with her Brothers house and two tea rooms, down about half a mile or so is a Lavender farm, you really must try there Lavender and honey
