  • "We had a great week at this lovely cabin."

The owners were very friendly and helpful and we found everything we needed in the cabin. I’m surprised to read the previous negative review as we were very happy with our stay. There were three of us, with one older child sleeping on the sofa bed. She had no issues with this and found it comfortable. We were all able to take a shower as normal, the pressure was fine and leaving a short gap between guests having a shower solved the issue of continued hot water. The bed and sofas were perfectly comfortable (recliner sofas were nice to use at the end of a busy day). There were lots of utensils and the owners provided milk, tea and coffee - the free roaming chickens were great and eggs were left for us. There is not an oven as such but we were able to use the hob and use the microwave oven and grill to cook when we needed to. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely return to this peaceful area and property and would recommend to others.

Thank you very much.Come back anytime. Was lovely to meet you all .Lovely family xx Property Owner

  • "We found this cottage very uncomfortable, the bed was very hard and settees need replacing."

My son only stayed one night as the bedsette was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The shower was very difficult to manage and gave up on showering. The water was scolding so would not let our granddaughter use it on her own. They is no space to prepare a meal as it is full of crockery so made it hard. It has lots of niggles that need sorting. The owners are very nice and welcoming, and the garden at the front lovely, not sure about the noisey cockeral. We would not return as we left early on Wednesday morning. I do not normally write reviews and it will not go down well with the owners I am sure, but felt this time I should.

Sorry that you felt the cabin was uncomfortable. The Sofa where new last year.We feel that leather is the best option. So they can be wiped down.sorry your son felt the bed settee was uncomfortable. The shower has also been checked and the water is consistenly running at a safe, normal temperature. Did you read the details .That the cabin is only suitable for 2 adults, plus 2 children under 12.We did not know that you had invited a other guest.Sorry about the cockrill.Perhaps we had better find him a other home . • "It's a lovely little cottage within the owner's own garden."

I was made so welcome upon arriving. They even let me park my own bicycle within their shed. Sadly my wife couldn't be with me, but l know she would have loved it there, especially the little secret garden. I didn't have great weather, but that didn't mar my stay. Many thanks to Jayne and Richard.

  • "The wife and I spent a week in The Cabin during a sunny week during June ‘23."

Walking through the door led into a very spacious kitchen/dining/lounge area. Plenty of kitchen equipment to use during the week including a toaster that actually toasts both sides of the bread at the same time. 2 comfy 3 seater settees plus another settee that I presume makes up a secondary bed. We found plenty of heaters in various places but non needed this particular week, but there was a fan for cooling. Big tv on the corner with a dvd player under. Plenty dvd’s, as well as books and games as a tv alternative. The bedroom and en-suite shower room were both clean and tidy. Couple of wardrobes and bedside tables gave plenty of storage for a week. Beds are something of personal comfort, we found it to our liking and had good sleeps. The shower, subject to some adverse comments on here, performed really well. When tap turned full the spray was very powerfully. There is a notice to not turn the shower tap too much “on” so to get enough hot water for a shower. We did that and didn’t encounter a problem getting a hot shower. No problem. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the garden, we enjoyed sitting in the “secret garden” out through the patio door. And we definitely enjoyed the company of the resident chickens, though I think their company would be optional. The hosts, Jane and Richard, are very friendly but definitely not overly so. We definitely enjoyed our stay in The Cabin.

  • "The Cabin is in a great location for South Shropshire."

We managed to get out and about every day. The proprietors were welcoming, helpful and friendly. We do not consider the Web listing to be accurate: it is called The Cabin it is not a Log Cabin. The green area had a lot of the proprietor's Caravans and vehicles which detracted from the Green Area shown. We went when the weather was around freezing and found it to be cold requiring a lot of heating (you pay for electricity using a coin meter but the rate was fair). I am also afraid to say we had to remove up to 3 flies per day which the owners need to investigate.

  • "We had a lovely stay at the log cabin."

The owners Jayne and Richard were welcoming and friendly, with useful local knowledge. It is ideally placed for visiting the area. We especially enjoyed Ludlow and Church Stretton. The cabin itself is comfortable and had everything we needed. Sitting on the front porch in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the chickens and listening to the birds was very pleasent. There is also a secret garden at the side which was great.

  • "The hosts were amazing from the off."

The property was easy to find and first impression was a good one. The cabin has all the amenities that you need to have a pleasant stay. We are a family of 4, two adults a 5 year old and a baby. The log cabin was a good size for all of us. It's very private and you have nature on your doorstep. There is a small patio aptly named "the secret garden" which is a very nice touch giving you added privacy. It was very sweet of the owners to leave us fresh eggs and milk on arrival (eggs from their chickens). We all enjoyed it very much and look forward to another stay at some point.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the hosts and that we thank you for such a lovely stay there. We will be looking at dates for our next visit. We really enjoyed our stay at the log cabin, the photos on the website could do with being updated as it looks nicer than in the photos from the outside, newer seating on the decking area and the greenery isn't on the outside anymore, the cabin was spotless, the owners were really nice, and there if we needed anything, on arrival we had some eggs and milk left for us the eggs were delicious, we saw baby rabbits in the garden every day and lots of birds, found it so relaxing, the bed was so comfy we didn't want to get up in the mornings, the cabin is in a great location for touring the area, would definitely recommend a trip to the land of lost content museum at craven arms, and lake vyrnwy, we can't wait to come back for another peaceful break, thank you

The only thing we could fault was the fridge freezer as the freezer door was broken off and 2 of the 3 door compartments were missing which did take away a lot of the fridge space. Otherwise very very happy with our week. The chickens were very entertaining!

We had a great stay. A beautiful log cabin in a lovely region. Ideal for sightseeing. We enjoyed visiting Blist's Hill Victorian museum, Ludlow, Croft Castle, and enjoyed a family hike up to a hill fort. Our daughters enjoyed playing in the garden area, in particular playing in the tree house. My daughters enjoyed looking at the chickens. A comfortable stay, and supportive hosts. We didn't want to leave ! PERFECT - we will recommend to friends and family - thank you.

Well equipped with lovely old blue & white china. Great use of small space, warm and comfortable. Very friendly hosts and entertaining chickens! The only drawback is the limited amount of hot water for the shower that only gives a short run, so you need to be quick. All in all, a great value place to which we hope to return

  • "On the slightly negative side - the sofas were a bit uncomfortable, maybe the sofas need replacing I think, but not so bad I'd walk away or recommend not using the cabin."

The shower is difficult as it runs out of water quite quickly, it's just enough for one. Then you'd have to wait a little while I guess for two (I was on my own so just a very minor inconvenience). ON the positive - It was well equipped and the bed very comfy - I slept very well. it's a great location in a beautiful part of the world and I enjoyed my very relaxing stay. I was surprised it had a TV and DVD with a nice selection of DVDs (and books too). Plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, plates, mugs, glasses etc. WiFi was very good. Cell phone coverage zero (Vodafone) but the wificall from Vodafone worked perfectly. For two it's comfortable, might be a bit cramped with any more, but there is a sofa bed n the living room area. I'd use again.

We stayed as a family of 4 but I think it would be more comfortable accommodation for two people. The accommodation really could benefit from a new sofa and mattress as both were hard and uncomfortable resulting in poor nights sleep. Luckily the weather was amazing and the secret garden to the side was a little oasis. The couple who run it are wonderful and really couldn't have done enough for us. I should also say they were incredibly tolerant of our children using their garden as the cabin is metres from their house.

The only reason we're not going back is because we like to try other places. The cottage was very homely. Our only negative comments were the mattress was very hard and we both had sore backs in the morning. Also the water heater only heated enough water for a brief shower but it was adequate. The owners kindly put £5 in the electricity meter for us which takes £1 coins. We only needed to feed £2 into the meter towards the end of the week. The owners also kindly left us 4 fresh eggs from their white Bantam chicken which were delicious. We loved the chickens and the view from the kitchen window. The small court yard garden off the patio was also really nice and we enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder. Great bolt hole for a relaxing break of 5 nights with peace and quiet to read and chill out. Really good access to some stunning surrounding countryside walks and pretty traditional medieval English towns if you have a car. Very happy!
