    “Lovely situation out in the country.”

    Lovely owner had kindly made me delicious home baked Victoria Sponge cake, shortbread, strawberry jam and marmalade as well as provided butter, bread and milk. I was working in Hereford and it was ideal. I loved to hear the hens and cockerel in the morning - reminded me of my youth. 100 % recommend it and hope to return if work crops up again in this locality. You do need a car although I did see a bus

Madley 3.6 miles; Hereford 6.2 miles.

The scattered village of Bishopstone lies close to the banks of the River Wye on the edge of the beautiful Golden Valley. The village is ideally located in unspoilt Herefordshire countryside between Hay-on-Wye and Hereford, with an extensive range of footpaths including the Wye Valley Walk and Offa's Dyke footpath. The magnificent Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park are also a short drive away. Within easy reach is the ancient city of Hereford with its magnificent cathedral displaying the famous Mappa Mundi world map and an impressive chained library, and its beautiful medieval bridge spanning the River Wye. The town of books, Hay-on-Wye, famous for its 30 plus book shops, charming pubs, antique shops, restaurants and cafes is also an easy drive away, and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Wales. A little further afield guests can enjoy the fine restaurants, food and antique shops on offer in Ludlow, the many activities in the Forest of Dean and the delightful historic market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Visitors to the area can also enjoy walks in amongst some of the oldest rocks in Britain in the eight mile ridge of the Malvern Hills.
