“We had a lovely short break at The Old Barn.”

It's a delightful property in idyllic, peaceful countryside, and manages to be both spacious and cosy. The Christmas tree was also an unexpected surprise. We enjoyed a fantastic bike ride around the surrounding black/white housed villages, stopping in Pembridge for lunch.

Little Quebb Cottages

A pair of traditional cottages resting within the charming courtyard of a 15th century listed black and white farmhouse, close to the medieval village of Eardisley. Tucked away within a farmyard setting where the owners breed Ryeland sheep. Both cottages offer a traditional interior with exposed beams, woodburning fires and charming furnishings to complement, ensuring a memorable stay for a friends and family gathering to Herefordshire. To the outside of the properties you will find a rear garden area, where you can gather to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining or rustle up some summer treats on the BBQ. If you can tear yourselves away from this outstanding base, the surrounding area offers superb outdoor opportunities which include canoeing on the River Wye, golfing and walking along the Offa's Dyke path. If you are seeking something more leisurely, venture to the market town of Hay-on-Wye or the impressive Hampton Court Castle. Little Quebb Cottages promise a refreshing getaway to an area steeped with things to do.

It boasts many early 16th century black and white cottages, a 12th century Norman church with a unique font, two pubs and village shop. The whole area is renowned for its beautiful countryside, which provides excellent walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and canoeing in the nearby River Wye. The small town of Kington is only 5 miles away, with a number of good shops, pubs, restaurants and a variety of tourist attractions close by, including Eastnor Castle, Hergest Croft Gardens, the Offa's Dyke Path, the Mortimer Trail and the lovely walk to Hergest Ridge, the inspiration for the music of both Elgar and Mike Oldfield. Also within easy reach is the delightful town of Hay-on-Wye, with its numerous book shops, craft shops and antique shops, and the ancient city of Hereford with its impressive Norman cathedral and famous Mappa Mundi, a 13th Century cartographer's interpretation of the world.
