  • "The views from this wonderfully restored and charming farmhouse are amazing."

    Very peaceful location, immersed in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds and furnishings. Log burning stoves much appreciated - even on chilly August evenings. The piano in the barn was much enjoyed. Great WiFi Thank you. We had a great week.

  • "We liked the house and the views were amazing when the weather cleared enough to see them."

    But as a consequence of the weather( cold and wet) the house was cold even with thd fire on as one of the lounge windows didn't shut fully. On arrival, we noticed that the dishwasher was full and had not been emptied, the woodburner had half burnt logs and ash had not been swept out or emptied, the left side of the toaster slots didn't seem to work and there were some stains on the toilet seat and double bed linen plus we found some dirty plates( crumbs and crisps) had been put back in the cupboard without cleaning and dining table had red/orange stains over it so didn't appear to have been wiped clean. Appreciate the owner cannot be aware of all this as they are not local but caretaker should be particularly in covid times with all the extra cleaning that is expected.

    We searched extensively online looking for the ideal place - and boy, we were not disappointed. As soon as we pulled up here we knew that we were going to love it.

    The location was exactly as had been described toys, so we had no illusions of it being close to Hay - close enough to walk, and book a taxi back. We shopped in Hay Deli and made a feast for the family on Saturday night, more reasonable and relaxed than eating out.

The ancient market town of Hay-on-Wye lies on the Welsh/English border, by the River Wye, in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Renowned for its world-famous Hay Festival of Literature, the town is a popular destination for book-lovers and holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the leisure activities and beautiful scenery of the Wye Valley. The town has many book shops, antique shops, restaurants and cafes, and is surrounded by spectacular countryside which provides excellent walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing and canoeing opportunities.
