  • "An absolutely delightful cottage in a wonderful setting."

The main attraction for us was the wood burning stove! Our hosts were attentive and thoughtful and could not have been more welcoming. Plenty to do and see in the immediate area and surroundings. A fabulous romantic weekend away!

Lovely guests, great communication, friendly and positive. Would welcome back any time. Fully embraced the cottage lifestyle and left everything clean and tidy - much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous cosy cottage, beautifully restored with charm and all mod cons."

Lovely bathroom, bath, shower, comfy bed and super warm with the wood burner. The property owners were really helpful, we had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in the future.

Fab guests…the sort you would happily welcome into your home. Very positive and friendly, great with communication and left the cottage spotless…sincere thanks Property Owner

  • "The property was exactly as described."

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The cottage was so cosy and comfortable in a beautiful area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

It is a joy to share our cottage, set in beautiful Hay on Wye, with appreciative and kind guests. The cottage was left in an immaculate condition, many thanks for this, and many thanks for your positive comments. Property Owner

  • "A limit of 10 minutes hot water when showering etc then waiting 4\5 hours for tank to heat up, is poor in this day and age."

Similarly a TV that functions properly is a simple need. With the log fire lit the cottage is a cosy place to relax. Staircase not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.

The cottage is 16th century and limited in space. The electric water tank fitted is the maximum size that we have been able to utilise in a listed building, due to beams and sloping ceilings, and also lack of gas. We always advise guests of this issue but on this occasion, were informed that one of the guests had a penchant for x2 showers per day…there was nothing more we could do to meet this requirement. The Sony television has not been an issue before but unfortunately a previous guest ‘borrowed’ the remote control and an alternative replacement has proven insufficient. I guess this means we will have to purchase a new tv at some point or remove it totally. The staircase is a traditional oak staircase and again, had to be an authentic replacement for the original. The cottage is unsuitable for anyone of limited mobility due to age and lack of space generally - this is clearly specified within the listing…although we are reliably informed that the original inhabitants in this one-up/one-down, included a family of nine. The owners were very friendly and most obliging and the standard of finish and quality of furnishings and fittings was excellent.
