The property

Knucklas 2.5 miles.

This former stable converted into a loft style apartment is situated on the owner’s smallholding in the rural hamlet of Heyope, and close to the popular village of Knucklas.

An ideal base for couples who are looking for somewhere cosy to retreat to after a day’s walking the fantastic footpaths and countryside that emanate from the door.

Set on the first floor, there are two cosy bedrooms, plus a bathroom.

The open plan living area has a compact kitchen, dining area and sitting area, with the elevated windows giving a real sense of privacy including distant views of the surrounding hillsides.

You are in an area renowned for walking, with walks from the door up onto Beacon Hill.

A short drive will take you to Radnor Forest, Offa’s Dyke, the whole of the Shropshire Hills AONB, and the breathtakingly beautiful, wildlife rich, and undulating countryside of the Welsh Marches.

Go for a drive and visit some of the seemingly endless line of quaint little villages around every corner, many with welcoming little inns or cafes.

The area offers plenty to do in the great outdoors with walking and cycling being a hugely popular pastime in the area, additionally there is Knighton Golf Course with impressive views.

There is the famous Phil Price Rally School which is a great well-known attraction where many famous people go, needs to be booked in advance.

Feel free to look at the website: Alternatively head to Knighton and pick up the Black and White Village Trail, a delightful meandering through beautiful little towns and villages peppered with black and white medieval timbered houses, as well as fabulous country pubs and cafes.

Slightly further afield, less than an hour’s drive away, is the pretty medieval town of Ludlow, known for its gastronomic delights.

The National Trust property of Croft Castle with its beautiful house and parkland, including a working walled garden is certainly worth a visit.

The historic rural village of Knucklas stands in the Teme Valley and is surrounded by rolling farmland and wooded hills. The village boasts a castle mound which is an ancient monument dating from 1240, and an imposing Viaduct built in 1865 with its spectacular 13-arch span. Today this sleepy village has a pub and is ideal for getting away from the stress of modern living. Only 2.5 miles away is the charming market town of Knighton which is a renowned location for walking, riding and cycling with Offa's Dyke passing through the town which hosts the Offa's Dyke Information Centre. The Glyndwr Way, Radnor Forest and the 84-mile long Radnor Ring Cycling Route is close by. Visit magnificent Powis Castle with its celebrated gardens, the breathtaking Llanrhaeadr Waterfall, and the lovely towns of Bishops Castle, Presteigne, Leominster and medieval Ludlow with its famous 13th century castle, ancient buildings and wonderful restaurants. A wonderful location for exploring beautiful mid Wales, Shropshire and Herefordshire.
