  • "We had an absolutely lovely time at The Old Farmhouse."

Thank you for making your beautiful property available for us to rent, for the comfortable interior and beautifully managed exterior and Thank you for the generous hospitality and kindness shown to us while we were there. We felt free and relaxed enough to enjoy our time together as a family, but confident if we had any questions or queries they would be answered swiftly and openly. The Gentleman we chatted to as and when we needed anything, was very warm, friendly and helpful & his help and knowledge was very much appreciated. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful house.

  • "A very well appointed and comfortable cottage which provided every need for our party of 10."

The Christmas decorations were a bonus for our celebration of a "significant" birthday for one of our group, and New Year as well. There was ample parking for all our cars (we had gathered from various parts of the country). The views from the cottage are spectacular, even in the rain! Thanks again for a wonderful week.

  • "We had a great Christmas at the Old Farmhouse."

It's a lovely big house (very comfortable beds) and views from every window. Decorations had been put up for Christmas and the two woodburners really added to the festive feel. The garden was great for our two labradors - enclosed and safe to let them run around. There was a storm while we were there and Stephen, from the farm, came over the following day to check that all was well. It's a lovely area and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming (including the people who look after the house, the neighbours and in the shops in the town). The house is situated up a narrow lane, but it's a quiet lane and we only really came across the postman, so it wasn't a problem - and approaching from the road to the south was even quieter. We all said we'd love to return in warmer months to be able to enjoy the garden more.

  • "A beautiful cottage in amazing surroundings!"

The area is really lovely with plenty of nearby walks to explore. The cottage itself is very well equipped and the beds are super comfy. On the cloudless nights we had probably some of the best views of the stars I've seen in years as there is very little light pollution in the area, it's great for star gazing. We had a very relaxing stay - thank you Elizabeth!

The house was lovely the view was amazing! The dog friendly aspect was exceptional, bowls, blankets, toys, and a luxury bed! The superb weather was a bonus so much that for two days we did not explore the area - we just sat outside and enjoyed that gorgeous view. The Bara Brith and flowers in the house added to the welcome - thanks for sharing The Old Farmouse.

Welsh fruit loaf waiting when we arrived, lovely with a cup of tea after a long drive. The farmhouse was comfortable and clean, plenty of space in the bedrooms. Had everything you needed in the kitchen. Very dog friendly. Garden enclosed so she could have a great run around without the worry of her getting out. There were cows in the field at the end of the garden which the grandchildren loved. One of the cows had a calf while we were there. Grandchildren loved seeing “the baby cow”. We would go again.

Plenty of space for sharing with the family. Enjoyed the local walks and vista. Plenty of room in the property to all be together comfortably in one living area, or find our own reading nooks separately. Secure garden and orchard great. Large windows in lounge a joy on rainy days, able to watch wildlife and farm animals inside or out. No horrid farmyard smells, fresh air was great!

  • "Could not fault the cottage."

There were some silly little things. I have notified the owners. These were simple things that did not affect the overall stay. If I had to score it would be a definite 10/10. Beds were so comfy and quality exceptional. I slept so well the whole week. Facilities were of the highest standard, and easy to use. Met one of the owners who is a farmer Steve next door, and his wife. Lovely couple and very helpful. View beautiful and having sheep and cows right next to us was being absolutely in the countryside at its very best. Would highly recommend it. Also the CO-OP a short drive away had literally everything you would need. Its like walking into a Tardis. Oh and one more thing. On arrival we were met by gorgeous flowers, welsh tea bread and butter. I so enjoy the tea bread, i just had to buy more to bring home. Thank you. Xx

We chose the Old Farmhouse as the accommodation seemed to be the best option available at the time. The farmhouse is in a lovely setting with some beautiful views. The house itself worked for us, especially with a downstairs and shower room, however the shower room floor was dirty. The garden is a good size with different seating areas although one of these which would have been a lovely place to sit of an evening we didn't use as it was quite messy. Some of the garden furniture is rickety, and all in need of TLC. Having been brought up on farmland I appreciate we were on farmland, the flies were such that they were in every room but in the kitchen they were excessive and we used a couple of aerosols of flat spray, having said the some of them seemed immune. Also on opening Windows for but if air the frames were filthy. All in all it didn't stop us having a good holiday the granddaughters certainly enjoyed it, but just a bit more attention to the outside furniture and seating areas would have made perfect.

The house itself is clean, spacious, modern and yet completely comfortable and even though there were nine of us ranging from 3 - 81 it never, for one moment, felt crowded or cramped. If walking is your thing, then you have it in spades, if relaxing in a beautiful house or garden is your thing then there are plenty of areas to do that too. For us it was all of that and more and we shall definitely be back again

We were on holiday with my elderly parents who do love a walk and to sit in the evening and watch TV. Sadly, the internet was so weak that we couldn't access Netflix or any other internet based service. They do offer free sat, which is rubbish, hence we left the holiday earlier as my parents really wanted to be able to watch TV and relax.

Thank you for your kind words regarding The Old Farmhouse. Having been made aware that you couldn’t access the internet, we ordered a new hub which arrived the next day. We offered to set it up for you but you preferred to do it yourselves. We didn’t hear from you again and afterwards found that the new code hadn’t been put into the TV to access the internet connection. We are sorry you encountered this problem. The TV and BT business internet connection are now working perfectly, as they have done in the past. We want all our guests to enjoy their stay at the farmhouse and will always respond to queries, and work to resolve any problems, immediately. Property Owner

It’s location is so beautiful, the house is just lovely (and exceptionally clean) and Michael and Elizabeth were always only a text or call away. Also, we brought along our very energetic dog with us and outdoor areas are brilliant (I loved the adjacent apple orchard). The garden was fenced,so safe for children and the dog. The hammock in the orchard was a favourite with the children! The farmer and his family were lovely and when we needed some help with the television Elizabeth was prompt in her response and the farmer's son fixed the problem quickly, which is what you need with four young children! The area is beautiful with most attractions about a half hour drive away. We tried the Horse and Groom pub in the village and found them helpful with the children and the food was reasonably good 'pub food'.

The house boasts enchanting features and has been carefully renovated to a high specification with the comfort of its guests paramount.

The porch/conservatory adjacent to the kitchen is a place to kick off your boots, put your feet up and relax.

The south-facing sitting room is a lavish spot for family and friends to relax together, with another magnificent woodburner within a feature brick wall.

Lie on the Chesterfield sofa with a good book (there’s a selection for you) and a glass of wine, and enjoy the stunning panorama from the picture window – or on a sunny day roll back the doors and bask outside on the patio sun loungers.

For autumnal and winter breaks there is underfloor heating to ensure that this is a snug retreat at all times of the year.

Take a step down from the sitting room to get to the first bedroom in the property, with a top-of-the-range shower located opposite; it’s an ideal room for those with limited mobility.

Upstairs you will find four more comfortable bedrooms accompanied by two luxury bathrooms.
