  • "Best secluded property we have stayed at."

Lovely two bedroom grade 2 listed, a real gem. Set at the end of a tract at the golf course, well equipped inside and heated hot tub outside. Bonus was the facilities at the club, excellent restaurant serving value for money meals. Adventure putting course and ten pin bowling. Wednesday bowl and steak is a must. The other surprise with this property is the hamper, eggs, cake etc that you find on arrival. Wonderful set up Zena and Roger.

Thank you so much for your kind review and appreciate all your comments. Kind regards Zena and Roger Property Owner

  • "Have just stayed at Grove cottage , a lovely cosy 2 bedroom property."

On arrival there was a basket of goodies, biscuits, crisps, eggs, milk, and a fantastic home made cake .The host Zena popped in to check everything was ok .The property is lovely and private up a track that ends at the property .Everything you could want is there if you want to cook up a meal, or ,if not, at the start of the track is the golf driving range where we ate the first night .There is also crazy golf and a bowling alley there.Although secluded you are not far from places such a Leominster,Ludlow and Hereford.Having a hot tub was great as we sipped wine looking up at all the stars in such a black sky, which you don’t get in the city with all the light pollution .The lounge has a log burning fire which made for a cosy atmosphere and I would highly recommend this property as the hosts have thought of everything you may need .

Lovely to meet you both and thank you for all your kind comments. Kind regards Zena & Roger Property Owner

  • "Wow what a brilliant retreat."

Repeat visit required for sure! Grove cottage is a beautiful game keepers cottage, just off the beaten track pretty much secluded, in the grounds of a golf course beautiful decor and amenities. Comfortable, clean and it says come back for more. The hamper was the best we've ever had with any break we've had through Sykes, cake, eggs, bread, snacks etc etc even enjoy a coffee once we arrived and seeming it was our wedding anniversary break Zena and Roger had left us an extra celebratory gift in the fridge to enjoy toasting in the hot tub later. Thank you :-) We enjoyed our time visited the Hickory stick restaurant for the Wednesday Steak and bowl which we couldn't fault with friends who visited for the day but they also do food through out the day starting with breakfast til 6pm. Recommended to friends already and they will be booking up too. Things we did while there, was a trip to the Newcourt cider just down the road, The Bush Inn for a very different afternoon tea, Monkland cheese dairy, local cosy pub in Leominster the White lion and Coffee, cake and more at St Michael's hospice coffee and books. Sure there's lots more to explore yet that we didn't get to do. We did plan to go to Queenswood park/arboretum and a few walks and a visit to the local deli in town but that'll be on the list next time. As you can see a most enjoyable stay.

We very much appreciate your kind comments and look forward to your return. Kind regards Zena & Roger Property Owner

The cottage was clean, we had everything we needed, and were welcomed by a fabulous hamper and chocolate cake! The lounge was cosy, with the woodbuner lit, the hot tub was great after walks in the countryside, and it was a bonus to be able to visit the restuarant at the end of the track for a tasty meal. The cottage is very peaceful and steeped in history, would definitely stay again!

  • "We were greeted with a big chocolate cake and a lovely welcome card."

The second week Zena made us delicious home made scones. Mmmm! Zena also left us lots of added extras that were a big surprise and most welcome. Having a private hot tub in the lovely garden area was also an added bonus; as well as close access to the golf club and restaurant, crazy golf etc. Zena was on hand, only a phone call away, if we needed anything, and was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed getting out and about a lot, as well as enjoying some time in the lovely, historic, cosy cottage. We would highly recommend Grove Cottage.

The property

Leominster 3.7 miles.

Grove Cottage is an idyllic country retreat in a splendid Grade II listed Game Keepers Cottage designed by John Nash and Humphrey Repton whilst they were working on the Hampton Court Estate for the Arkwright family.

John Nash also designed Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch, Royal Pavilion and Regent Street.

The Cottage design was a template given to many of the Estates and this one was for a Game Keepers Cottage for the Hampton Court Estate.

Situated up a lane on the owner’s farm, in the hamlet of Ford Bridge near Leominster, Herefordshire.

This idyllic country retreat is a perfect choice for families and friends looking to experience the wonders of Herefordshire, with access to plenty of on-site facilities including an 18-hole golf course, ten pin bowling, bar, and a restaurant.

Step inside Grove Cottage, a characterful Game Keepers Cottage with plenty of charm, and you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and a breakfast bar.

The ideal space for creating delicious home-cooked meals, the kitchen opens into a spacious living/dining room complete with a woodburning stove and Smart TV, perfect for cosy nights in.

The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can easily freshen up your wardrobe.

Wind down the day in one of the two bedrooms, pick from a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom, both stylishly presented.

Freshen up in the ground-floor shower room before heading out to explore the beautiful countryside.

Finally, make the most of the peaceful location with a glass of something special on the spacious garden patio with furniture, fire pit and hot tub, bringing a touch of luxury to your stay.

Within the grounds you can create some friendly competition- If you enjoy a round of golf then there are two challenging nine hole courses, professionally landscaped with outstanding stone and water features.

Combined with top class playing surfaces, rolling woodland with panoramic views and you can see why this is an excellent challenge whatever your golfing standard, either 9 holes on the original Badger Course, popular with golfers of all levels but particularly loved by less experienced players or when time is a premium.

The Deer Run gives a challenging links type course with large full U.S.G.A․ spec greens and sand tees, giving excellent drainage, playing surfaces and holding Greens.

Both these courses can be played as either 9 holes or combined as 18 holes with professional tuition available and there is Leominster Golf Course next door to us which is an additional 18 holes.

Why not check out the 18 hole Mini Adventure Golf course which has been built to test the putting skills of all ages and abilities and enables everyone to join in the fun with all equipment provided.

To compliment the course, a beer garden has been built with a central oak barn and al fresco seating area.

When it comes to exploring the local area, the historic market town of Leominster is just a brief drive away, where you can peruse the local boutiques, sample some traditional British cuisine, pop into a local bar for a relaxing drink, or visit one of the four museums for a taste of the town’s rich history.

Stroll along the River Lugg, past Tithe Barn and take in the beautiful collection of independent shops and cafes or walk through the beautiful Leominster Priory also known as the Cathedral of the Marches.

Ten miles away lies Hereford, home to its ancient, chained library and famous Mappa Mundi, or venture along the Hereford/Shropshire border, with plenty of delightful towns and villages to explore, such as Ludlow, Pembridge, and Tenbury Wells.

Whether you’re looking to explore the countryside with loved ones or simply searching for a peaceful retreat, Grove Cottage has it all, offering an unforgettable Herefordshire adventure.
