"Really lovely, spacious, warm and clean accommodation."
Good location to explore nearby mountains. There is provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you very much for the welcome flowers and treats. Already recommended The Byre to my friends.
"Lovely property, very welcoming owner."
The property is perfect for 2people, quality of facilities and equipment is very good. The Welcome pack was full of tasty goodies and a vase of fresh flowers was a very nice touch. Would 100% recommend this property, we will definitely return.
Thank you xx Property Owner
"A well appointed, spacious and comfortable cottage, kept to a very high standard."
Kitty Bodily was very welcoming.
"What a gem!"
The cottage was very comfortable and every eventuality was thought of. Nice and private, but we knew if we had any queries there was always someone to ask - we didn't need to though, as everything was provided. The farm where the cottage was located was very interesting with peacocks and small dogs (very friendly) to greet you every time you arrived "home". Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore this interesting part of Wales, or do some serious walking. As we said in the visitor's book 10 out of 10. Peter McCaffrey

"The Byre is a lovely spacious property and an ideal base for exploring the local area."
It is warm, comfortable and well equipped with everything that you need for a relaxing holiday. There is plenty to do and see in the local area with great walks and lovely local towns to explore. The welcome basket of Welsh treats and fresh flowers were very much appreciated, and we loved your very friendly dogs and the peacocks that came to say hello each day. We would highly recommend The Byre to other holiday makers and also hope to make a return visit ourselves.

"Great property, it has everything you need."
My husband particularly like the dishwasher. It meant he didn't have to wash up for six whole days. The basket of Welsh treat were a lovely surprise. As were our morning visits by 3 beautiful peacock. Its in a great location with lots of places to explore.

"Comfortable cottage in a lovely location."
We particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the suntrap. A bonus as the outside sitting area wasn't clear from the listing.

"The pictures of The Byre do not give the place justice!"
It’s absolutely beautiful inside and it’s so cosy and the perfect place to stay. We had a wonderful time and there’s all the amenities available and more. Kitty was an amazing host and even left us some fresh flowers and cakes and waffles for our arrival. Thank you for a wonderful week!
"Wonderful stay in a beautiful location and Kitty our host was brilliant!"
Really could not fault this holiday.
"Excellent attention to detail."
You need for nothing. Very nice helpful people.
"Overpriced for the standard of property without a private garden"
"Location, facilities and a nice play to stay Interesting residents many animals including peacocks, horses and a variety of friendly dogs!"
! Wales is a great place to visit although be careful to check what is open, when it opens and if it is value for money - not always the case at the moment
"Very comfortable and very well equipped in a lovely location, we would thoroughly recommend staying here."
"The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable."
We did not see or speak to the owners at all whilst we were there, which was a little diasappointing: but they live very nearby. A lovely vase of flowers, and a selection of delicious goodies were kindly left in the kitchen area. The bed was really comfortable, and all the furniture and equipment were of a high standard. The surrounding area is beautiful - great for walkers when the weather is good. The Skirrid is only a mile away, and is well worth climbing, as the views from it are fantastic. There are peahens and at least one peacock wandering around outside The Byre, which was a treat! Parking was easy, and convenient. The town of Abergavenny is only a few miles away, and there is Morrison's , Aldi's and Tesco's there. There is a restaurant and a tearoom very nearby. The directions for getting there were very helpful and easy to follow.
"The Byre was a perfect haven for us and gave us much-needed breathing space; moving house to rented (a gap of 11 days)."
It is the most spacious and well-appointed holiday rental we have ever stayed in. The very quiet location means it is a great place to chill. We enjoyed many local walks. The owner and family were very helpful even though they were very busy. A friendly, relaxing stay. Thoroughly recommend.
"Very nice holiday home, well equipped, but Mind your head on corner of cooker extractor fan, if you are tall."
Lots of nice walks close by.We were a bit restricted because of covid, it was fine as we stayed more local, But under normal circumstances, it was the perfect holiday destination. Kitty, Tim, and their son were friendly and helpful.
"The Byre was very well equipped and had everything that you could want."
It was in a peaceful location and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
"Cosy underfloor heating, lovely warm cottage in January."
Enjoyed seeing the peacocks outside our window every day.
"It was well equipped except no toilet roll good thing had kitchen roll with us."
There was no mobile signal and never saw the hosts. They did leave us milk and a cake.
"Beautiful spot for exploring Brecons and surrounds."
Abergavenny is a super town with good eateries. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. but kitchen wasn’t very clean. No one there to greet us and had we not gone to ask for loo rolls on the first evening I am not sure if we would have seen our hosts at all. Which suits us in many ways. I bought eggs from the farm . Hosts then were very friendly and chatty . We could go anywhere on the farm and see the ponies bred there. Resident dogs were lovely but not when barking during the night around our cottage where they had free range. It did give us a dog fix having left our crew behind. Not much info in the welcome book. One restaurant recommended hasn’t done food for 8 years! But we found the walks we wanted any way and pubs to eat in. A very enjoyable restful quiet break.
"We had a lovely stay at the Byre."
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and very clean, with underfloor heating throughout. When we arrived the owners had left a cake for us and milk in the fridge, which was really thoughtful. The cottage had everything we needed for the week including a dishwasher, washing machine & drier, microwave, toaster and so on. The location was perfect and so relaxing. We loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm & we were surrounded by fields of sheep, cows and horses. The owners were really friendly and welcoming & we would definitely recommend The Byre to friends and family and would love to stay there again.
"Beautiful setting and exquisite accommodation."
We stayed here for a long weekend but wished it could have been much longer. The owner made us feel very welcome with a cake and an Easter egg- a really kind thought. Would highly recommend.
"Very comfortable accommodation in this beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons National Park."
Animals and family nearby to help in anything you might want, but totally unobtrusive. Wide choice of places of interest to go. But for me the local walks, peace, fresh air, and tranquillity hit the spot.
"2 weeks in a warm, homely well equipped cottage on a farm in beautiful Welsh countryside ."
"Everything we needed was there."
Very kind welcoming gestures of flowers, cake and milk. TV in lounge and bedroom. DVD player and DVDs Lots of leaflets about places to visit.
"The Byre was very comfy and had everything (and more) that I needed."
Will definitely return!
"Had a lovely time."
cottage was well equipped and in an excellent location for walks and places to visit
"The whole process of booking this break was a joy."
Sykes do things properly; I was kept informed, the technology all worked and the whole booking experience was easy. The Byre's is a lovely cottage and the rural setting is great. We booked because we needed a base for our booking at the Walnut Tree Inn. Our expectations were exceeded as the Byre is so spacious, welcoming, cosy and well-equipped that we'd come back again to have a proper holiday in the area. A delightful experience all round; thank you!
"It was very relaxing with everything we could possibly want."
"Beautiful surrounding area for walking Quiet location"
"Great location and accommodation"
"Host are really helpful and obliging."
Property the best ever.
"This was the best holiday we've had."
We go to a self catering cottage each year and this has been the best one. The surroundings are beautiful and a brilliant base to explore The Black Mountains. We have already booked for September.
"The Byre was probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in, in terms of quality, comfort and equipment."
"EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR"
