  • "It was great."

I've stayed in loads of holiday homes and this one was excellent and definitely offered some of the best value. Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful owners, brilliantly equipped kitchen, lovely cosy living room. Any feedback I could offer would be really really pedantic, like I didn't really like the table cloth! The only thing that might be good is a shoe rack of some sort in the hall. Maybe a wall-mounted shoe cabinet type thing. It was bad enough with my three pairs of muddy shoes but I imagine if it's full of walkers in winter it could be interesting! Oh also lovely garden with the brook running through. Very peaceful setting. Thanks for a fab holiday

Thankyou so much for taking the time to give us feedback, it is very much appreciated, as is your perfect scoring. Sorry you didn't like the tablecloth (Ha! Ha!) Thankyou for your thoughts and ideas about a shoe rack, it's something we will consider as your point is very valid, though to date we've been very lucky in that the vast majority of guests have been very considerate and have left the flat clean and tidy. So glad you enjoyed your time at Kavieng and hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

Thank-you for your lovely feedback. It was great to see you again, and Shyla enjoyed her walks with Buster, as much as I enjoyed your company on our early morning walks. So glad you enjoyed your break, and it would be lovely to see you again sometime. Take care. Property Owner

Close to all facilities and the beautiful black mountains and waterfalls. Very well maintained and a home with good character. The owners have a lovely taste for the interiors. The small brook that flowed through the cottages was a pleasant thing. Very friendly and helpful landlords. They went their extra mile to help us with our car's flat tyre too. People around the area were very friendly and kind too. I will definitely recommend this place. We will plan to visit again :-)

Thankyou so much for your kind words and for taking the time to do a review, means alot. So glad you enjoyed your break, it was lovely meeting you all, hope to see you again when the children can have more dog walking experiences. Take care. Property Owner

  • "Vicky and Stuart, an absolutely lovely couple, we received a pre-welcome email to let us know what things would be provided which is a really lovely touch."

The property is beautiful, high quality products, furniture and linens, really clean, well kept has everything you need and more. The gardens are beautiful, although not for use of the rental property. However, there is plenty of secure space at the rear of the property for sitting and relaxing, eating and drinking and even more space in the countryside just outside the driveway gate. Plenty of walks to do from the property, we couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Thankyou for your lovely positive feedback and so glad that Kavieng provided all you needed, and that you had a great time. Just one little thing, guests are welcome to use our garden (the one where you park your car) if they wish, if I forgot to mention this, I am so very sorry. What we cannot offer though is exclusive use or total privacy there as we need to maintain the garden (lawns and beloved weeding !!), and do use it ourselves when we can and also park there ourselves. But, as you mentioned, there is plenty of space directly outside the flat for guests to enjoy....when weather allows! Thanks again for taking the time to do a review, it means alot -especially such lovely comments, and is very much appreciated. Hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

Great outside space and easy parking. If you are noise sensitive please be aware of the nearby busy road & the close proximity of the tennant in the flat above.

Thankyou for your positive comments and the perfect feedback score. So sorry that the noises from the road and neighbours affected your overall holiday experience. Unfortunately we can do nothing about the location in terms of proximity to road, though we are planning on increasing the acoustic insulation in certain areas of the flat when our builder and the business allows, though as the accommodation is a flat, some noise transference is regrettably unavoidable. The cottage is a good location within easy reach of good walks and of Abergavenny and Crickhowell. The cottage is comfortable, stylish and extremely well equipped. The cottage is in a row of several and the gardens to all of them are at the end of row. Being at the end of the row, Kavieng enjoys the views over all of them. The cottage has some patio spaces around it and use of one of the pretty patches of garden furthest from the cottage. We will be back for another visit as this was one of the best cottages we’ve holidayed in and there is plenty more to enjoy in the Brecon Beacons.

  • "A beautiful flat with almost everything you could need - we couldn't find a broom/dustpan & brush or hoover to clear a week's worth of dog hair before we left."

A lovely welcome pack & fresh flowers on our arrival & great dog walks from the property. The refurbished pub over the road does a lovely Sunday lunch but beware - all pubs in the area seem to be closed Monday's, Tuesday's & some on Wednesday's so make sure you have some food in for dinners. The only slight niggle about the property is that you can hear the couple that live upstairs having conversations with each other/on their phone & going about their everyday life, it's like they're in the room next to you but the property & position of the property outweighs anything really, we had a great time in this beautiful area.

Thanks for your feedback, and for your positive comments. To respond to a few of the issues raised: There is a full range of cleaning equipment in the kitchen cupboard (behind the kitchen door) . I will ensure that this is mentioned in the welcome information. As guests will be aware, the accommodation is a ground floor flat, and perhaps occasionally there will be some noise transmission between the properties. We plan to review this during the winter. So glad that overall you enjoyed your break in Kavieng. Property Owner

  • "The cottage had been furnished very tastefully and the owners went over and above my expectations in what items were provided."

It is in a beautiful setting, although there was some traffic noise from the A40 but inside the cottage we didn’t notice it after a while. The proximity of the main road did, however, enable us to go to Abergavenny by bus, using our travel cards. We felt that there should have been a warning about the distance from the parking place to the cottage, some of which was over uneven ground: perhaps not suitable for people with difficulty walking, although Vicky, the owner, did offer help to carry our stuff. Altogether, it was a very enjoyable holiday.

Thankyou for your positive comments, and glad you enjoyed your time at Kavieng. To respond to a few points made, yes the accommodation is located just off the main A40, and the traffic noise can be elavated during peak hours and audible outside the property, but this is not constant. It is approximately 80 yards from the car parking area, through the garden to the flat. There is very little off road/private parking in the village, hence why we offer parking in the garden. We have identified a small area of crazy paving on the path which needs attention, and we assume this is the uneven ground referred to. This is on our list of jobs to do over the coming months. Either Vicky or Stuart endeavour to be around to greet guests, and will always offer to assist with luggage on arrival and departure. Thanks again for taking the time to give us feedback, very much appreciated. Property Owner

The owners had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. It was immaculately clean and extremely well equipped. The hosts were nearby, warm and welcoming, but discreet. I think this was probably the best standard of holiday cottage we have stayed in. NB - for peoples info - the cottage is in a row of cottages, side on to a fairly busy road, there is some road noise, but you don’t see the traffic. Your garden overlooks the brook, and the patchwork of cottage gardens beyond, which are beautiful.
