  • "Very pleasant place to stay."

We had 3 generations staying & everyone had a good time. Enough space to spread out if needed but large enough rooms to be altogether when wanted. All the rooms were comfortable with no complaints.

  • "Pentre Court provided us with the holiday that we all needed, with three generations meeting up after a long time being apart."

The house has everything you need & more, it provides space for getting together as well as the chance to get peace and quiet if you want to be alone. The gardens are extensive and full of interesting uncommon (rare!) trees and plants. We found time to play football in the games field, to have P&Q in the orchard, to push the children on the tree swing, and play softball games on the main lawn. Indoors we had family meals in the large dining room. We played Pool and board games (we had taken our own because of covid) in the evenings, while some of the children used the WiFi. The swimming pool was the centre of attention of course, but was only one thing among many that we loved. We went to the vineyard just up the road and took an energetic walk up "Sugar Loaf Mountain" (the views make it all worthwhile). A couple of us had a pint at the pub opposite - BUT Otherwise we just stayed at the house .. there was simply no need to go anywhere else.

  • "Great house."

Stunning views. Large enough for 16 with plenty of space for all. Furnishings were comfortable rather than super smart so we found it easier to relax with kids about Kitchen was well equipped with generous supplies of crockery, cutlery and cooking implements Comfy beds Brilliant pool - kids loved it Lovely large garden, room to explore and room for loads of games, rope swing, stream Owner was helpful and accommodating

  • "The house is fantastic and the location is brilliant."

You are very close to the town which means you can walk in and get food if you need it, but it also feels remote and in the hills. This is the second time that we have used this house and it is perfect for a group. We love cooking and spending time together and this house has so many different spaces you can move around for different parts of the day. The garden is quite fantastic, you can spend hours exploring it with the children and the stream running through provides hours of fun playing poo sticks. There is a pub across the road which is great if you are feeling like a break from cooking, there is an amazing vineyard also within walking distance up the hill and the walks over the hills are only a short drive away. If you are looking for a venue to get away but still be connected to amenities this is the house to pick.

  • "A fantastic house in a fantastic setting, just perfect for a 70th birthday celebration with four generations gathered together!"

The house is superbly equipped with everything you could want and was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy - despite Storm Dennis! Highly recommended for large family gatherings. Thanks to the owners for their attention to detail and the thoughtful welcome pack.

  • "The cottage was perfect for our needs, there's plenty of crockery, cutlery and even catering equipment to cook for large numbers."

There's a few items in the property which could do with upgrading. A couple of the guests mentioned the mattresses were uncomfortable and the sofas in the living room, although extremely comfortable, had seen their best years. It was warm throughout while the average temperature hovered around freezing for the duration of the stay. WiFi was adequate for what we needed. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

  • "A fantastic holiday home, superbly equipped with lots of space for all 16 of us - three generations for a family reunion and 80th birthday celebration."

The two kitchens are a real asset with so many people and the pool and gardens delightful. There was always somewhere for the whole group to get together comfortably, but also for individuals to find a comfortable quiet corner for a bit of peace and quiet. The location is also a great asset, with the Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley and Forest of Dean all within easy reach, so that walking and canoeing all were on the familt agenda. In short a great holiday - we just wish we were 80 again!

What an amazing house. 16 of us stayed for the weekend and had an amazing time. Plenty of room for everyone and the house is well stocked with things you may need. The pool is heated and we spent the whole day in and around it on Saturday; it felt like being abroad. I would highly recommend this property!

  • "The house was absolutely fantastic - so much space!"

We were there for my sisters hen weekend and wanted enough space for us to be in the same room together. The sitting room had lots of comfy sofas and there was a dining room which had enough seats for everyone - it was exactly what we were looking for. There were plenty of bedrooms and nice that some of them were singles that we didn’t have to share! All but one of the bathrooms looked like they had recently been upgraded - pure luxury. I’d definitely think of this property as a place to stay again.

Everything we needed was available and considering there was quite a few of us, Pentre Court was grand enough that we didn't feel as if we were stepping on each others toes at any point.. Added to the size of the place, the endless nooks and crannies served brilliantly for our massive game of hide and seek.. (Yep, we're adults, I promise!) On top of that, it's directly opposite a pub! C'est magnifique! I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to stay here again.

The cottage was very clean and had all the facilities that we needed to make it a home from home experience. It was amazing that over Christmas we had a lovely tree and fab decorations that the hosts had provided, this made it extra special. The hosts were very pleasant and looked after all our needs before, during and post the stay. The grounds of the cottage were lovely and the children of all ages (young to teenagers) liked exploring it. The house was perfect for all ages to stay in, and our welcome pack was a lovely start for the Christmas holidays.
