The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and warm. It is set in the grounds of the owner’s property, with the use of their paddock, if needed for the dogs. Liz, the owner is very welcoming and on hand should you need anything. There are also great walks direct from the door - Offas Dyke Path is literally one minute away - with safe spaces for the dogs to run around. The Old Pandy Inn which is within easy walking distance, has new owners and is very dog-friendly. We would definitely recommend The Lodge and hope to return.

It's ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside and is not far from the lovely town of Abergavenny. If anything would of made it better for us, a bigger TV in the lounge would have been nice, especially for those wet days. I know, because of COVID-19, everything is taken out of the cottage but it would of been helpful to have some information regarding which bag recycled what, etc. Maybe a laminated sheet of info, that could be wiped clean, would be good idea to pop in all cottages.

  • "This little get-away lodge is perfect for anyone looking for a laid back peaceful break away."

Also it's perfect for someone with mobility issues. Although, we didn't use the wheelchair inside the lodge, there was plenty of space to manouvre if you had to use a wheelchair. However, assistance will be required for the walk in shower unit. I am sure the host would provide a seat for the shower if requested. The only inconvenience was the lack of a wardrobe for hanging clothes. "Space verses furniture". There were adequate hanging hooks behind the door but much nicer to have your clothes hidden from sight. Anyway, this was just an annoying gripe as everything else made a simple 3 star accommodation gain 5 stars from us. Spotlessly clean, can not fault housekeeping and I can be a real fuss pot when it comes to a shiny sink and clean loo. Even our four legged Jack Russel guest, Meggymoo, was impressed with the cookies welcome pack... So, we can all safely say, that this little get-away gem of a lodge has been saved so we can call upon it's services again in the future.
