I do not normally do feedback.

I do not normally do feedback. However.....as implied previously a fantastic place to stay. Cannot fault accommodation etc etc However....it should be made clear access to this wonderful property is not easy. A single winding very steep one mile +/- track is required to be negotiated. NOT being negative but for a visitor , especially in inclement weather, this may well be a deal breaker. As long as this is accepted it is a wonderful place to stay.

The property

This fabulous semi-detached property is situated on the owner’s smallholding in beautiful rural Herefordshire near to Peterchurch.

This character property has been lovingly furnished throughout to offer couples or a family a luxurious retreat.

On the ground floor is a small entrance porch, the perfect place for storing those outdoor coats and boots after a day of exploring.

The open plan living area is home to a very well-equipped kitchen where the owner has thought of everything you may need including a bread maker and slow cooker.

How wonderful to return at the end of the day to some delicious smells and enjoying the meal you prepared earlier around the dining table as you laugh over the day’s adventures.

Afterwards retire to the gorgeous sitting room which oozes character with its comfy sofas, beamed ceiling and feature exposed brick fireplace with warming woodburning stove.

The character features continue as you head up the stairs to two sumptuous bedrooms.

The master double boasts its own en-suite bathroom and the king-size double bedroom has an adjacent shower room, with both bedrooms having beams and sloping ceilings.

On summer days open the French doors from the sitting area and step out onto the gravelled patio area where you can dine alfresco.

The owner’s fields are accessible from the property and guests are welcome to take their four-legged friends for a walk around these to stretch their legs.

Children may be lucky enough to enjoy a tractor ride with the owner to feed the chickens and pigs.

The village of Peterchurch has a selection of pubs and restaurants, if you feel like a night off from the cooking, or slightly further afield is the well-known market town of Hay-on-Wye where you can browse the myriad of bookshops and relax with your purchases in one of the many cafes and restaurants.

The surrounding countryside has a wealth of footpaths to explore with the Offas’ Dyke Path, Herefordshire Trail and Wye Valley walk nearby, or for the more energetic head for the hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A day trip to Hereford makes a great day out where you can visit the magnificent cathedral.

The village of Peterchurch, with its handful of pubs and restaurants, is situated on the River Dore in the beautiful Golden Valley, flanked by the Black Mountains to the west and gentle hills to the east. Just 10 miles away is the wonderful market town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its 30-plus book shops, excellent pubs, restaurants and antique shops, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions in Wales. Surrounded by pastureland and woodland, covered in primroses, violets, celandine and bluebells during spring, the village is also close to the Offa's Dyke and Wye Valley walks. The epitome of picturesque England, the ancient city of Hereford lies 12 miles away and dates back to the 7th Century, boasting a magnificent cathedral, the famous 'chained library', and a medieval bridge over the winding River Wye.
