  • "A pretty little cottage exactly as described."

    We had a marvellous time with fantastic weather. Unfortunately we hadn't realised how noisy the traffic outside would be, but we did so much walking we slept well regardless.

  • "The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and well situated for exploring the island and had a gorgeous garden."

    However, the kitchen was very poorly equipped and it was difficult to prepare meals. Also, the listing stated that you could park at the pub next door to pack and unpack. Unfortunately, the pub was closed, and obviously had been for some time, and we had to park up the hill in the public car park and make numerous journeys back and forward with luggage. The site needs updating and this issue highlighted, as for many people this would rule the cottage out.

  • "We enjoyed a great bank holiday weekend at Wee Cot."

    The cottage is lovely with a safe enclosed garden good for children and dogs alike. The cottage is located a short drive from Sandown with a large section of the beach dog friendly all year round. In the village there are a few pubs and a shop just over the road so no need to drive if you don't want to. The owners were very helpful with some questions we had and overall we had a great weekend.

  • "A lovely period cottage, but we were disappointed by the garden as it was overgrown."

    We also felt the noise was a bit of an issue, but not a problem if you're going out for the day. We live in the country so we're not used to traffic noise, but maybe others who live in the town would not notice as much.

  • "We had a great last minute 2 night stay in Wee Cot."

    We were so grateful to the hosts for being able to accommodate us at such short notice as we were visiting family. It's a great location for visiting various places on the Island. We enjoyed seeing Sandown beach and browsing the local shops. The cottage is well set up for cooking and has all the equipment you'd need. The upstairs has a very cosy feel and my daughters loved staying together in their bedroom. The bed in the master bedroom is comfortable and again well equipped with hairdryer/iron. The living room is cosy and spacious and the garden is lovely. A real sun spot at the top - perfect for a morning tea! Thanks again, we will definitely stay again. Also - Key collection/return is so simple it makes it ideal especially if arriving late etc. Nice clear instructions for arrival/departure.

  • "Very nice cottage in an excellent location for the surrounding attractions."

    Road noise was noticeable from the front at peak times as it's quite a busy road, but this did not impact us particularly. Kitchen table rather a squeeze for 4 (2 adults and 2 children) as we cooked in most nights, but we managed ok. All appliances worked well and good heating ( gas fire very warming in October weather) and excellent hot water facilities. Washing machine was useful (outside under cover). Owner very helpful for any queries and came round to assist on one occasion. Parking was very convenient (free via a permit) a short walk up the road and helpful to be able to off load in the pub (sadly now closed) car park next door.

  • "This was our 2nd visit to Wee Cott."

    The key collection was simple. Parking is at the car park & a permit is provided. The cottage is quirky, warm & welcoming. We fully appreciated the biscuits, milk & dog treats. The cottage is on a main road, so there is some noise, but this didn't bother us at all. The owners are brilliant, providing the info needed to enjoy the cottage & local area. We had a fabulous holiday & are already planning our next stay. Thank you!

  • "We spent a lovely week in Wee Cot ,the cottage is really quaint it is very well equipped and clean ,the owners have done a lovely job keeping it ‘cottagey’."

    It is situated on a busy road so the traffic noise is the only drawback but there isn’t much you can do about that and we got used to it . Brading isn’t far from anywhere so it’s well situated for touring the island ,the beaches are beautiful and the whole island is beautifully clean . We had booked this holiday before Covid and were quite worried about travelling during a pandemic but the island has take the every precaution and everywhere we visited felt well organised and safe .we will definitely come back and see more of the island and would love to stay at Wee Cot again !

  • "This is a lovely, comfortable cottage with a great garden if you take dogs."

    The listing is quite clear in the description of downstairs bathroom only and no parking outside. The main road was extremely busy while we were there and great care needs to be taken. The noise wasn't a problem at all but the speed of some of the traffic made negotiating the narrow pavements a little tricky. The Isle of Wight is a great holiday location and this cottage is well situated for exploring both the local area and the wider island attractions.

  • "Curtains still an issue."

    Blind a bit difficult to get up again. Lighting in bathroom rather more decorative than functional especially if you want to shave as they change colour continuously. Recommend tomatoes in the garden, they are the most delicious we have ever eaten. Overall a charming period cottage with comfortable settee you can lie out on and a handy gas fire for those chilly evenings. The shop opposite has everything and very handy if you have forgotten some vital ingredient when cooking.

    Ideal for family, double bed and twin beds suitable for small adults/ children. The twin bedroom would have benefitted from a mirror and both bedrooms from black out blinds, especially the front bedroom which has a street light near by.

  • "Clean and comfortable with pleasant rear garden."

    The front bedroom needs heavy curtains to reduce the light and noise from the busy main road through the village. The fact that the bathroom is downstairs needs pointing out on the listing because it is a pain having to traipse downstairs in the middle of the night should the need arise. A few extra kitchen utensils would be an advantage e.g. A fish slice and a decent French cook's knife. The large knife bends when trying to slice through onions, etc. The overnight hot water boiler makes too much noise and keeps a light sleeper awake. It has then to be turned off resulting in no hot water in the morning. Otherwise the cottage was fine and the owners were thoughtful enough to leave milk, coffee, tea, biscuits and even some treats for the dog.

We want you to have all advertised facilities on our website therefore I can advise that the property is advertised as having a ground floor bathroom.   • "The cottage was lovely-very comfortable and secure garden for the dogs."

    However our experience was similar to other people who have commented on the road noise. We had to sleep with the bedroom window closed. Also some thick curtains would help in the bedroom to avoid car headlights as they come down the road. A minor point is that the rubber seal on the bathroom basin plug is missing which meant that the hard-earned water could not be retained in the sink.

  • "The cottage was absolutely lovely."

    The decor was beautiful. Spotless. All the essentials available with some little extras which made our stay a pleasure. Travelled with my partner, 15yo son and dog. Just as advertised. Situated in the perfect spot for us. Brading high street is charming, so the little walks up the hill to the car park were a pleasure. Theres a playing field with a good track for a dog walk just up the hill off of The Mall. Private fenced/gated garden which was great. We only found Bembridge Beach (highly recommended) on our way home as we would have loved to of spent the whole day on this dog friendly beach. 15mins away from Weecot. Parked at the Tollgate Cafe and treated ourselves to coffee and cake after exploring in the rock pools and skimming stones. Wherever we travelled was not far from Weecot, although we didn’t mind the journeys as the scenery is stunning. My only two criticisms would be; although it didn’t bother me, my partner couldn’t seem to get used to the noise of the traffic on the high street. And secondly we had to hang a towel over the window in the bedroom as not to woken up with the 5am sunrise

  • "We have just returned from a fabulous week staying at Wee Cott in Brading."

    The cottage was quaint & full of character. On arrival the directions were simple to follow & key collection information couldn’t have been easier. We were very grateful for the welcome treats. Parking was nearby & the arrangement with the pub next door for unloading was great. The garden was delightful. The weather was amazing & being able to sit out was a real treat. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed. Wee Cott is on the main road & as it was so hot, we kept the window open. This meant there was road noise, but we were expecting it & it didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment of staying here. It is a 2 minute walk to the bus stop, so we took ourselves to our favourite IOW places by bus. The service is regular & £55 for a group of up to 5 for a week, it was fantastic value, meaning the car spent most of its time in the car park. The Costcutter over the road was good for essentials & the local pubs all get great write ups for food.

  • "We did nt expect the cottage to be LITERALY on l of the busiest roads on the island, CONSTANT traffic noise, day and NIGHT."

    We are both slightly disabled, and the parking was TOO FAR AWAY from the cottage and UP A HILL, which was too much for my wife, this spoilt our holiday. We feel your description of this property needs to state that there is NO EASY PARKING at the cottage, and noise from traffic could be a problem. Had we known the true picture, we would not have chosen this property. You could also mention to the owners that in places the property is alittle shabby, weeds in the paths dont give good first impressions. Regrettably the wrong property for our needs.

Built in 1623, this characterful cottage is located in the village of Brading on the Isle of Wight.

It is warm and inviting with the perfect blend of modern and traditional decor.

Ideally-presented for a romantic trip or a short break with the family, you can enjoy returning to this base from one day to the next.

Brading is also perfectly located for many of the island’s beaches, with the sands of Sandown and Yaverland only 1.7 miles away and the rock pools of Bembridge beach 3.5 miles away.

A small historic rural town, steeped in history going back to the Stone Age, Brading is close to many attractions, from the 1900 year old Roman Villa, to the beautiful Nunwell House, which hosted Charles I on his last night of freedom.
