“We had a lovely time and although it poured with rain onthe Sunday we sat in the lovely conservatory which was a delight in itself.”

The property

Resting on the outskirts of the pretty village of St Helens on the majestic Isle of Wight is this superbly-appointed, Victorian property, Bay View.

This spacious accommodation enjoys breath-taking views across Bembridge Harbour, ensuring a memorable base for your next family holiday to this wonderful island.

The interior design enjoys a refreshing ambiance which is complemented by the contemporary furnishings, and the sash windows throughout the property ensure a sense of character.

Gather with your loved ones within the sitting room, where you can sink into the plush sofas with a good book in hand, as the woodburning stove offers a gentle warmth during a winter’s evening.

Also hosting the dining area, where you and your loved ones can look forward to tucking into a delicious home-cooked meal that was prepared within the kitchen.

The kitchen comes with everything the designated chef of the group could possibly need to cater for yourselves during a week-long break.

Ensuring a flexible sleeping arrangement, four bedrooms can be found across both floors, each enjoying picturesque views.

On the ground floor you will find a double bedroom with en-suite shower, whilst upstairs you can catch your rest in either one of the double bedrooms or the twin bedroom.

During a balmy afternoon, head to the garden area, where you can admire the view of The Duver and Downs whilst the barbeque sizzles in the background and your canine companions stretch their legs.

For all of your local amenities, head into the village of St Helens where you will find eateries, a pub and a shop for picking up the essentials.

There is a boules pitch on two greens at St Helens which is also adjacent to the pub and childrens play area.

From the doorstep of the house you will find the National Cycle Route, as well as a number of walks to explore the coast and countryside of Isle of Wight.

If you are feeling adventurous, a short car journey will bring you to Ryde, where you will find six miles of glorious sands, or soak up the sun from The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand with stunning views.

Bembridge Harbour and access across the Causeway to the Duver and the beach is a 5 minute walk from the house which makes it ideal for dog owners.

About the location

Bembridge 2 miles; Ryde 5 miles.

The village of St Helens lies in a coastal position on high ground, on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at the centre of village life, providing cricket and football pitches, a children’s playground and superb views right across Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. The village also offers superb restaurants, pub, newsagent, Post Office and grocery store. A short walk takes you to The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand, and once the site of a Royal links golf course. The beach here is very family friendly, with sand and shingle, perfect for making sandcastles and collecting seashells as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There is the popular Baywatch Café, with all the amenities you need for the perfect day at the beach, and stunning views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. The fort was built to protect Portsmouth from a French invasion between 1867 and 1880, and at the lowest tide of the summer, there is a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach out to the fort and back again, with driftwood fires and barbecues.
