    Walked up and down sometime before finding the cottage. The picture of Wolverton is a bit misleading. Also there is no parking in front or opposite the property. However there is a free car park on the green

The property

After an action-packed afternoon be greeted by the characterful interior which houses everything you could possibly need for a week-long break to the Isle of Wight.

Relax into your evening within the open-plan living room where you will find a roaring woodburning stove, a selection of books and carefully selected furnishings to ensure a warm and welcoming visit.

The kitchen is amply-equipped to cater your own home-cooked meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table before curling up on the sofa and tuning into the TV.

Venture up the staircase to the first floor where you will find a stylish bathroom, complete with a bath, separate walk-in shower, basin and WC.

As the evening draws to a close, retire to the well-presented bedroom, where you will find a double bed, ample storage and views of the surrounding area to wake up to each morning.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful accommodation, a short stroll will bring you to the RSPB nature reserve Brading Marshes, this haven for local wildlife is a great place to spot a wide variety of local and migrating animals, also home to the Red Squirrel.

After a lovely day taking in this beautiful part of the UK head over to the local pub for a refreshing beverage, or pick from a large choice of restaurants to sample.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, venture a little further to the National Trust owned St Helens Duver, where you will find sandy beaches, rock pools and coastal woods to explore, as well as spending time at the former site of a Royal links golf course.

Brush up on the local history further by visiting the nearby Brading Roman Villa or the National Trust Bembridge Windmill.

Alternatively, the superb Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club and the Amazon World Zoo are within a short drive and promise a memorable day out.

Bembridge 2 miles; Ryde 5 miles.

The village of St Helens lies in a coastal position on high ground, on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at the centre of village life, providing cricket and football pitches, a children’s playground and superb views right across Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. The village also offers superb restaurants, pub, newsagent, Post Office and grocery store. A short walk takes you to The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand, and once the site of a Royal links golf course. The beach here is very family friendly, with sand and shingle, perfect for making sandcastles and collecting seashells as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There is the popular Baywatch Café, with all the amenities you need for the perfect day at the beach, and stunning views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. The fort was built to protect Portsmouth from a French invasion between 1867 and 1880, and at the lowest tide of the summer, there is a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach out to the fort and back again, with driftwood fires and barbecues.
