  • "We had a great stay at willow cottage, house was spacious, clean, beds really comfortable and house well equipped with everything we needed including a map of the island and lots of local information."

There was also tea, coffee, milk and wine when we arrived which was a lovely welcome! House is very well located near shops, coffee shops, takeaways and restaurants. Beach about a 20 minute walk away which was great our children and dog really enjoyed this! There is no allocated parking but it was never a problem and managed to park outside the house every day. There is also side access to the garden with an outside tap and hose which is perfect to rinse muddy wellies and paws!

  • "We've just got back from a wonderful week at 1 Willow Cottages."

The cottage itself is presently beautifully, and care has clearly gone into both its decor and facilities, from lovely smelling bed sheets to all the kitchen Utensils we needed, it's clear the owners are invested in their guests enjoying their stay. The owners level of communication was perfect, we never met them and they didn't encroach on our holiday, but they were in contact with us via text and every time we spoke, they provided a nugget of advice that added to our holiday. The house itself contains great 'local' knowledge and advice to help you make the most of your stay, with lots of restaurant recommendations as well as comments on the things to do on the island. While I was initially concerned about the fact we had to park on the road, I'll repeat the comments of previous guest - it really is a quiet road and we always managed to park outside the house. Finally the garden and conservatory were just perfect. My daughter had fun exploring and we were able to relax knowing neither she nor our little dog were able to get out as it really is completely enclosed. I really cannot recommend Willow Cottage enough!

  • "Home from home."

We had a very pleasant stay in a well equipped cottage that felt immediately like home. A gorgeous enclosed garden great for our dog and sensibly stocked with soft plants ensuring it’s safe for children or dogs. A lovely surprise bottle of wine awaited us on our arrival. Thank you! We particularly enjoyed the conservatory as a place to sit, enjoy the view of the garden and unwind. What a great location too. The best part of the island with super walks and a gym a short walk away, which was used a lot by our teenaged son. Very attentive host to answer questions and prepare us for arrival. Highly recommended.

  • "A lovely house and nice garden."

Close to shops pubs with good food swimming pool ect. Close to the beachs and some amazing walks right on your door step. Quite road parking wasn't a problem even though its on road parking. Only problem I would say we had was shower is a bit low pressure sometimes and to Close to the wall which can make it awkward. This wouldn't stop us staying again as the house was in a good location for us and very dog friendly area with the amount of walks available.

  • "Our second stay in this lovely house."

It has everything you need, and a lovely position on a quiet road near the shops and within 15 minute walk of the bay. The only issue we had was the heating, as there are no internal doors downstairs and, despite turning the thermostat up to 25, the temperature didn't get quite high enough downstairs. Only a problem in the colder months though. The owner did his best to resolve it.

We appreciated the welcoming pack of milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine . Really excellent customer service, it was easy to get hold of the rep who sorted our minor queries quickly. It was however very dark leading up to the cottage and difficult to see the key safe numbers but apart from that it was fabulous. Thank you .

  • "Lovely cottage, with a smart interior."

The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch. The bedrooms are smart, a large main bedroom with storage and a comfy bed, medium sized double and bunk room. The bunks were best suited to children, as not the most sturdy. Great to have a large table to sit outside for dinner; plenty of room for six to sit and the same in the dining room. We also used the traditional deck chairs for lounging in the garden! Parking on the road was fine and we managed to get a space right outside most days. Handy location for the beaches - we mainly drove to Compton 10 minutes drive away where there is a lovely calm, sandy beach with rock pools as the tide goes out. Perfect for swimming and paddle boarding. There are also a couple of playgrounds walking distance away if you have kids with you and a swimming pool about 2 minutes walk from the house.

  • "After a long hot tiring journey Willow cottage was a welcome place, cool, clean, fresh smelling and provisions we needed for a refreshing cuppa."

The garden is delightful and with the very good weather we were able to barbeque and eat outdoors. We also enjoyed asking Google to play our favourite music. Beds and furniture very comfortable with plenty of hot water, fluffy towels and kitchen equipment. Our dog was fine sleeping in the conservatory (only downstairs room with a door) with no mishaps but maybe think of providing a stair gate for other guests dogs so that they can sleep in the kitchen (tiled floor) and be prevented from wandering around at night time.

He contacted me before our stay to give us his mobile number. We told him we were travelling with a dinosaur mad 6 year old and he sent me a list of good fossil beaches. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (6,11 & 13) and a dog and the house suited out needs well. We cooked everyday and the kitchen is so well equipped. We had a very happy stay.

My only recommendation might be to have a door or child gate on the dining room so that dogs can be stopped from going upstairs.

Extremely clean, south facing sun trap of a garden and very well located for Freshwater. Lovely big kitchen and nice conservatory area. Great BBQ. Good sized bedrooms and nice clean bathroom. Only minor drawbacks are no downstairs toilet and a fairly steep staircase, so not recommended for elderly or less able people. Overall a great stay and a really well presented and very well appointed house.

  • "We had a lovely week at 1 Willow Cottages, the house and garden are absolutely lovely."

You feel like you're staying in a boutique hotel, with lots of highend touches such as the kitchen equipment and the decor. The house is ideally situated for lots of great walks from the doorstep, and our dog loved the garden with all its nooks and crannies. My only slight downside was that the bed is rather too firm, and I didn't find the sofas comfortable, so nowhere comfy to sit. However, with so much to do outside it's not really an issue. Very clean, and every facility you can think of.

  • "Everything was wonderful, comfortable and clean."

The location is quiet but handy for local shops and exploring the west part of the island. One important and urgent note I need to make about refuse disposal / collection.....because the cottage has weekly collections which alternate between household general waste and recycling waste. It was our week for putting out the recycling bin which was fine and was collected with no problem. However the general waste bin was already completely full on our arrival and no room for our waste....this means problems for the next holiday let. (The notices said overfilling of bin is not allowed otherwise it won’t be collected). I would also like to emphasise this general waste bin was extremely heavy even though a wheely bin. IF THE NEXT LET IS ELDERLY OR FRAIL THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO MOVE IT TO THE KERBSIDE EASILY....(complicated by a front door step obstruction en route to the kerbside). Otherwise all fantastic and thanks to the cleaning team and staff for a wonderful holiday. Kindest regards, Ware family

Great location - we walked to the needles and Yarmouth during our stay, as well as explored the local area. The conservatory/garden area is really lovely and the lounge too, the TV is a smart TV so you can use Netflix which was great. Literally the only comment I would have for improvement is to have bin left a couple of essentials like a couple of bin bags and a dishwasher tablet. We had to go out especially on the first night to buy loo roll, bin bags and stuff to wash up with.

My children were so excited to have an Alexa and lovely touches such as torches for the children in the bunk room. The kitchen was very well equipped, maybe a few more bits of cutlery would have been good and some normal sized desert spoons but this is minor feedback and obviously didn't affect our stay. The cottage is very well placed and we really enjoyed exploring all that was on offer. The map with all the local top tips was a great touch. Thanks so much! Would definitely come back

  • "1 Willow Cottage is delightful and had been refurbished very tastefully Especially the Kitchen and Bathroom."

The one small drawback was the slope to the house down a grassy bank as there was no path as such, with just a dip in the grass and as the weather was not so good this made it very slippery, I noticed the house next door had built a concrete path to their property. We were visiting our 95 year old friend on the Island and were hoping to bring her back for tea,but we knew she would not have been able to walk up the slope. Also the parking is very difficult having the conservative club a few doors along meant the members used the road for parking, however we did manage even if it was further along the street,I am not sure what the owners can do about this as the houses were clearly built when the motor car was not around so much! But none of these things affected our stay. And the view of the Horse chestnut trees from the front window were a delight with me collecting conkers to display at home!
