  • "It was a lovely comfortable accommodation lovely surroundings and very quiet."

Every need was available. Only problem bedside lamps were too dim to read by in bed. We had a very happy stay over Christmas.

  • "The family who own the cottages are very friendly, their large house is on the same site."

We had difficulty finding the cottage, the directions need to be improved. The pillows on the bed are at the end of their lives, definitely need new ones! There was no tin opener in the cottage, we shared one with the next door. There was only one lamp in the double bedroom, you need one either side of the bed as we both read at night. The plus points - location is perfect. Shower is wonderful. Very nice kitchen. Size of property is good. We had a great holiday.

  • "This property is well proportioned and has a far amount of room inside for a family of four."

Was really hard to find especially as we arrived at night the postcode provided took us to a neighbouring property more signage would be really helpful as you can not see the property from the road. I think these were great lets in the day, however they now need a lot of maintenance. the state of the sofa was really bad, the door handle on the downstairs toilet is about to come off! The pull light cords in the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and the whole place really needs a revamp, there was only a few toilet rolls provided which seems rather tight for the amount of money you are paying, also as a holiday let there were certain items missing such as sugar basic sauce etc I know these are not listed as there but are something you expect with this type of property.

The only feedback we really have is the downstairs toilet seat was damaged and it would have been nicer to have an enclosed garden.

  • "The property was very clean and tidy with good facilities."

There were no instructions for any of the appliances and we never did master the coffee machine. The upstairs bathroom could be improved by mounting the shower on the wall and installing a shower curtain or splash panel. Over all we were happy with our stay and would stay there again if holidaying in the area.

  • "This is a very clean and comfortable property."

It provided good value for money and, in turn, a very pleasant holiday. It is well situated in a beautiful part of the island. The property boasts a well equipped kitchen; with all you’ll practically need and more. The bathrooms are also of a good solid standard. The friendly owners are also on hand if you were to need anything. Thanks for a great stay.

  • "We cannot fault our stay at 5 Yarmouth Cottages given the price charged for a 7 night stay."

The property is a modern built property and is furnished accordingly. The owners allow pets, therefore dog friendly. Some reviews mentioned the furniture being worn, however, whilst not new, is is what to be expected of a dog-friendly property in our opinion. The cottages, numbers 1-6, are located on a private driveway, set well back from other properties which is nice. They have small but private patio areas, and good car parking outside each cottage. The location is quiet, but close enough to amenities a short drive away. There is a local farm shop within walking distance, the walk-in entrance being opposite the private driveway. There were just the two of us and our English Bulldog. If I were to find anything amiss, it would be our cottage was not equipped with a vacuum cleaner (just a sweeping brush) to clean-up the 'Dudley's dog hairs before we left, which is something we like to do out of respect for others property. Chatting to the occupiers of Cottage number 6 next door, on us leaving, they did indeed have a hoover but not us in number 5.

  • "We stayed in this cottage for a long cycling weekend."

It was perfectly located just up from Yarmouth ferry terminal. It was clean, comfortable, quiet (I didn't need my ear plugs to sleep at night). Perfect for our needs and we will be back!

  • "The directions given were wrong, we only found the property after a call to the owner."

Location is good for walking with plenty of footpaths nearby. The cottage is well equipped but it's let down by the shabby and uncomfortable sofa and chair.

  • "We like to stay here as away from the hub bub very peaceful and we can take our dog."

However last year and this year there have been building and maintenance going on making it difficult at times to access, disappointed that more houses are going to be built up reducing the space and serenity. The property is perfect for us however needs some upgrade with the settee and chair very hard and uncomfortable with the weather sometimes you stay in and more comfortable furniture would be welcomed, also the pillows are flat and beds very hard need an upgrade. Everything else is very good and well equipped.

  • "Cottage was lovely and clean, and even smelt clean when we arrived!"

The bed was comfortable, but our personal preference would have been for a lighter duvet. The settee and chair in the lounge area were not comfortable, and could have been improved by some cushions, but unfortunately these had been removed due to covid (not the owners fault). On returning home we noticed that the internal cottage photos on the Sykes web site for upstairs and the bathrooms appear to relate to No 6, and No 6 photos relate to No 5!

we had to manage with the sofa, but spent the holiday sleeping in single beds. it's a fantastic spot though, very quiet and private, perfect for young families. the downstairs shower was great and parking not a problem. we are unlikely to stay again, but it's perfect for family, so I'd recommend ☆☆☆☆

  • "The cottage was lovely - shower and bath taps difficult to use and adjust for heat and using shower head in bathroom."

Location was good for scenic areas of island and Military Road. Investment in better mattress would be good. The discarded toys and other items around the entrance to the cottages did not give a good first impression and was a shame as otherwise could be beautiful. We have booked again for Easter as we enjoyed the island which are truly dog friendly - however some small incidences of intolerance from residents of the island experienced when travelling around the island.

Great people, great location and outstanding value for money. The accommodation was spotless with help readily available whenever required. 5 Yarmouth is reservedly quiet and tranquil. Our boys were extremely happy and pushed for another week of stay. The neighbourhood is outrageously pleasant, and my boys always had local kids to play with whenever time allowed. The young lady looking after the property was exceedingly kind and helpful….I can’t wait to go back.
