    “Easy to park.”

Greeted upon arrival by John the owner. Stunning views of the Solent. 10 minute walk into Yarmouth centre. Buses can take you all round the island for a week for approx. £25 pp including the open top which is fab. Felt very welcomed by the owner who was lovely and really wanted us to enjoy our time there. The dog friendliness and superb hospitality we received was outstanding. Newport is a short ride on the bus or by car and has most supermarkets and shops (including M&S) and lots of ...

Newport is a short ride on the bus or by car and has most supermarkets and shops (including M&S) and lots of dog friendly inns etc. The Bargeman's rest on the Quayside for us was brilliant and we got to know a few locals in a very short time. The beer garden to the back of the Royal George in Yarmouth is breath-taking and across the road almost at the Bugle Inn we enjoyed a great Sunday roast in particular. We enjoyed great sleeps in a lovely comfy bed listening to the sea and the apartment was so well insulated that we did not need to put the heater on at all even. Lovely piping hot water for the shower left us feeling good to go. We took the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth and when we arrived the apartment was literally a few minutes drive away which was an added bonus. Our only regret is that we went for 1 week we should have booked 2 weeks and will do next time we visit. Missing the place already. Thank you to everyone it was brilliant.

About the location

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
