  • "Cozy, comfortable and clean."

Don't let old reviews with low ratings put you off this beauty. Thanks to Natalie who answered the smallest of questions with the greatest promptness. The kitchen is so well resourced. There were plenty of towels, a big fridge, a little tap outside the kitchen door to wash sandy feet. The garden is beautiful and the utility room is so convenient because all your wet clothes hang there to dry leaving the spacious bedrooms cozy and warm. Clean comfy beds in all rooms. Lovely kitchen starter pack left for us with some washing tabs. The dishwasher was a lifesaver! The living room has the most comfortable sofas and a big wall fitted TV. There are two toilets and 2 bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and the other with a large tub. Water pressure was absolutely fine when being used simultaneously. Gorgeous Sandown beach is a short walk away. The cafe at the pier serves the best food with good ol' Rock n roll music. Would definitely return and highly recommend beautiful White Sand. Customer service from Sykes has been absolutely professional and faultless. Thanks

Hi Salome, thanks very much for the review. So glad you had a great stay and found the place comfortable. Also that you were able to reach the property conveniently on public transport. Very much hope you can stay again in the future. Most welcome. Best wishes, Natalia & Robert Property Owner

  • "We visited as a group of 6 adults and 1 child."

We would consider returning another year. It's reasonably close to everything, parking is fine and the garden safe for children. There are a few things that guests need to be aware of : Only small bath towels are provided, you need to take your own hand towels for the bathrooms & toilet. The only shower is fine, but it loses all pressure if a tap is turned on or toilet flushed somewhere else, so you can't run a bath or wash up at the same time. This meant we had to get up one at a time! Hot water is plentiful. The two ovens are great, but the grill doesn't heat up. The fridge and freezer are quite small if catering for large numbers (we ate in and picniced most days). There's only 1 frying pan and no mixing bowls. There's 1 cafetiere, so only 3 coffees can be made at a time. Plenty of glasses and other kitchenware. Lots of storage and worksurface. You can only sit 6 in the lounge there's only 6 chairs in the garden. Some of us took our own pillows, which was fortunate as the provided ones are very thin. The hinges on the rear bedroom window seem broken and it opens fully in any breeze, potentially dangerous for youngsters. And you have to be quite tall to close it! That might seem like a lot of small whinges, but it might just be useful info for someone and allow you to pack things not provided. So it's a good house, slightly shabby and a bit under equipped for 8, but the week we booked was decent value for money. It is probably best suited to slightly smaller groups, particularly those that aren't trying to produce 3 meals a day!

  • "Beautiful property, 5 mins walk from the beach."

Milk, sugar tea and coffee on arrival, little starter pack for dish washer and washing machine. The whole family loved the house which was huge. I would definitely recommend and will definitely return. We were very lucky with the weather so clothes dried out side on airers but a tumble dryer would have been a great idea to have incase of bad weather. Thankyou to the owners for a great holiday let!!

The property sleeps8 but there was only seating for 6 in the lounge. My only criticism.

Hi Mark, Many thanks for the feedback and glad you had a good time. We will look to increase lounge seating in the future. Look forward to welcoming you again. Best wishes, Natalia & Robert Property Owner

  • "The only real problem was that the TV was not working very well."

After contact with the owner, it was fixed the next day, so problem over. We felt that for a property which would sleep 8 there was rather a lack of seating in the lounge. This did not seriously discommode us as we were only six.

Hi Frank, Thanks for feedback. Sorry again you had trouble with the TV on one of the days, but pleased it was fixed by the TV engineer quickly given Queens funeral weekend. (Water had got into the cable apparently and we’ve had a new cable installed connected to the satellite dish). We’ve also had the TV engineer out again to double check. So we can be sure no future probs should you wish to stay again! You would be most welcome. Hope you enjoyed your stay overall and thank you for the 9.4 out of 10 rating. • "We loved this property which is spacious and has character, the beds were very comfortable and lovely bed linen, I scored a 9 for accuracy as there are not 4 bathrooms which wss a big selling point for us, there are 2 toilets/cloakroom 1 up and 1 down plus a room with a shower and a room with a bath, the bathrooms were well appointed but probably could have put a toilet in the "bath" room."

The location is amazing!! You could fit a large and small car at the back if needed although we always found space at the front. Lots of plates, cups and cutlery so no shortage there, washing machine, dishwasher, outside seating on the deck late afternoon sun, some toys available if needed and a travel cot. Couple of points and it is mentioned in the description this property has a lot of steps, even between rooms which could cat h you out and i would put some low level lighting in the dining room as we felt very wasteful leaving the light on and maybe one for the upstairs as well. We would love to stay again!

Hi Wendy, Great to have you stay and thanks very much for the feedback. Appreciate your 9.4 out of 10 rating. Would be a pleasure to have you stay again. We’ll ask Sykes to update the description and thanks for the pointer on the low level lighting, which we’ll install in due course. Best wishes, Natalia & Robert Just to update we have now completed the improvements you suggested. Thanks again for tips! Natalia & Robert Property Owner
