"Not a criticism just a suggestion a black out blind for velux wiindow In downstairs bedroom."
We had a wonderful time in this delightful cottage it had everything you could need the views from the garden are amazing. If your looking for a quite holiday this is the cottage for you .
"BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE AND GREAT LOCATION."
Only thing we thought was a wood burner which would make the living room really cosy? We found a lot of hibernating ladybirds in the kitchen which emerged probably due to the warmth.....sadly couldn't do much for them as it was too cold outside. Hope they will make it until the weather warms up.
"The property was delightful with amazing views."
Loved by all the family, children included. The owner was very communicative and made us feel right at home. Seriously considering booking again for next year!
"Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean."
Peaceful location in the best part of the island !
"We had a wonderful week at Lisle Combe Cottage."
Lovely garden and views and a very nice cottage, well equipped and good location. Definitely recommended!
"It was very peaceful the field and surrounded garden were beautiful It was very practical to visit the main attractions we could walk to Ventnor garden We had a wonderful week!"
"We had a fabulous time at the cottage."
It was so pretty and very clean. Access to the costal path was a fantastic plus as well. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden and watching the sea whilst listening to the sheep in the field next door. We came home so relaxed - thank you x
"Wonderful place to stay."
Close to coastal path Real relaxing cottage
"Amazing location and really lovely property too."
"The location of Lisle Combe cottage is wonderful."
To see and hear the sea from the house is so special. The house itself is adequately furnished. There was no DVD player as listed in the description. We would have appreciated a pint of milk on arrival as the nearest shop is quite far away.
"This is an extremely attractive location and a very well appointed, spacious and convenient cottage."
There is wonderful walking in the locality. Although close to the road there is no road noise at all, perhaps because the cottage is below the road level and faces a bank. At the front are sea views. The main Lisle Combe house is below but not in any way obtrusive. The cottage has a large and convenient kitchen, separate sitting and dining rooms and three comfortable bedrooms. The living areas are functional and well equipped, the only slight issue iso that the small sitting room is lined with quite uncomfortable sofas (a previous respondent mentioned this and it's quite true, tho not very important ). Highly recommended!
"Lovely cottage with everything provided."
Good cleanliness and fabulous interaction with the owner who was very attentive. Would highly recommended and would most definitely book again if we plan another visit to Ventnor.
"Delightful cottage, well equipped, lovely view and good garden to sit in and barbecue."
Lucky with lovely weather.
"A lovely retreat."
Comfortable cottage. Peaceful and very relaxing. Lovely welcoming owner.
"The property is well presented and clean and well equipped."
The owners are very welcoming and helpful This cottage is just right to access the islands south coastal area and not to long a drive to anywhere. We found this cottage the sort of place to feel relaxed in. It may be not so suitable for young children a few steps but the owners have other suitable properties nearby. We had a wonderful break and will return again. Our only criticism is that the sofa is a bit low for an oldie with a dodgy back.
"Lovely comfortable cottage, fantastic views."
Only drawback was the logburner not being in use but this did not spoil our holiday as the weather was great.
"A lovely cottage and friendly, helpful owners."
"Would highly recommend this property."
"Could do with a new kettle."
The one in the Cottage spills boiling water all over the place when pouring. Small point, but annoying
"The cottage was perfect for myself and the family."
We were attending a wedding at Lisle Combe and layout worked well for us. Very clean, beautiful views, great location and very pretty. I think that the upstairs bedrooms would benefit from some blackout blinds/curtains as children and adults were waking up very early (especially in May when we visited). Other than that we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful area.
"This is a fabulous cottage, well situated and great views."
It has a large garden and well set out. A real cottage "feel" to it. Reported couple of issues to owner and cleaner but they were not game changers, a bulb here and there and outside light not working. This was our second trip to Lisle Combe and we loved it despite it almost turning into a ski holiday with the snow. The IOW has great memories for us going back 50 years so we keep going back when we can. Wightlink are tremendous and efficient and travel to the island is simple. We tend to eat out in the evening, no shortage of places to eat and in most places portions are reasonably priced and massive. I find dealing with Sykes is easy and like the balance auto pay facility so I don't need to remember to pay by phone. Great web site. We will return to the island and use Sykes again.
"Great location for access to the Coastal Path, Botanic Garden and Steephill Cove."
"Lisle combe is a lovely little cottage in a good location to explore the island."
It is very well equipped both in the kitchen and also a great range of toys for the kids. The living areas are comfortable and the view over the sea is beautiful. We had a lovely holiday thank you.
"Lovely cottage in a beautiful location."
Could do with a new dishwasher and extensive use of a duster but all in all a very nice place to stay.
"A traditional old stone detached cottage that retains it's charm with our 21st century requirements, including Wi-Fi."
Sit outside and enjoy the view with the beach and coastal path just 12 minutes away. Enjoyed this October break with great weather on practically the most southernest part of the UK.
"In late August 2016 my husband and I were travelling in England with our daughter and 10-yr."
-old grandson. We all live in the Boston area, USA. We had rented a car and took the ferry over from Southampton. We visited friends who live in Godshill on the IOW. Our daughter and grandson loved the privacy of the second-floor bedrooms and bath. We were happy to have the fully-equipped kitchen and dining room, where we ate our breakfast. Our grandson enjoyed watching the satellite tv shows. The view from the south-facing windows were lovely. This was the "quintessential stone English cottage," a really special experience for us. We appreciated the proximity to most of the places we were going to on the island.

This picturesque, Island Stone cottage is hidden away on The Undercliff between St Lawrence and Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight.
As you step out of your car, you will feel a sense of calm at the sheer beauty and utter tranquillity of your surroundings.
Inside, Lisle Combe Cottage is full of original character and charm, with beamed ceilings throughout the ground floor and stunning views from the spacious dining room, sitting room and kitchen.
The kitchen is contemporary and has been cleverly designed to complement the many features of the original cottage.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both with stunning coastal views.
The larger bedroom has a super king-size bed, with the zip/link function of becoming two singles, while the other houses one adult single bed and one suitable for a child.
The garden is private and extremely pretty, with mature shrubs and trees all around.
Look out towards the horizon and you will see the green pastureland giving way to the bluest of seas, where shoals of fish glisten in the sun.
The cottage is a short walk from the wonderful Ventnor Botanic Garden, which benefits from The Undercliff’s Mediterranean climate, enabling many varieties of worldwide subtropical and temperate plants to thrive here.
As well as having a very popular café/restaurant, the gardens hold many exhibitions and events throughout the year.
Just a 15-minute walk along the coastal path will bring you to the island’s hidden treasure, Steephill Cove, where you can swim safely and stroll along its sand and shingle beach.
Watch the fisherman launch their boats, or sit on the beach enjoying a crab sandwich, while watching some of the islands most spectacular sunsets.
A wonderful cottage, perfect for families exploring the Isle of Wight, all year round.
About the location
Newport 10 miles; Cowes 15 miles.
The quaint Victorian seaside resort of Ventnor is located at the southern end of the island and accessed via an array of steep winding roads set amidst beautiful scenery. Sheltered by St. Boniface Down, one of the island's highest points and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this charming town has a uniquely mild micro climate enabling tropical and exotic plants to grow throughout the area. The gently sloping sandy and fine shingle beaches and coves provide excellent facilities for watersports and offer a range of stunning coastal paths to explore, while the harbour sells a broad range of fresh fish and locally-caught seafood. A good variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants line the esplanade, whilst the Botanical Gardens are within easy reach and well worth a visit. With plenty to see and do around the island for all the family, including great walking and cycling opportunities, medieval castles, historic houses and a variety of gardens and waterfalls, as well as the unspoilt fishing bay, this great holiday destination has plenty to offer all year round, and it's easy to see why it's known as the prettiest place on the Isle of Wight.
