  • "Great, roomy property for a family holiday (10 of us aged 1 to 71) with fabulous views."

Ideally situated for a walk into Yarmouth for shops, cafes, restaurants etc.

  • "The location and views are stunning."

The property is very well equipped and spacious. Beds really comfortable and bedrooms are huge. We had a fantastic week. A few comments on the negative side, the cleanliness wasn’t as expected, there were cobwebs all over and the fridge hadn’t been cleaned(mouldy cheese still in there). The outdoor furniture is quite rusty so could do with replacing. Whilst we were there the dishwasher broke down (which of course can happen to anybody) However, two messages were left on the owner’s mobile and a text message but we received no response, also left a message for the plumber detailed in the house information and again no response.

It is spacious with a view from the upstairs sitting room to die for. The rooms are huge and the beds are so comfortable. I can thoroughly recommend this property and Rebecca who was very helpful. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home and for organising a wall to wall week of sunshine !!

  • "The house has wonderful views of the sea and it is only a few strides to the shoreline."

We got some great pictures of the sunsets during our stay. It is a short walk into town and there are some lovely walks which you can do from the house. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The house is only a short distance from the ferry terminal and very easy to find. We enjoyed our stay.

We were a family of 10 and were all left satisfied. House very clean and well maintained. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen well stocked.

  • "We had a fantastic break."

As a family we were celebrating a special occasion so were prepared to push the boat out a bit. The house in Yarmouth was perfect. It is right on the coast so the view was amazing. The house was very well prepared both in terms of the facilities but also the cleanliness and the decor. It has clearly had quite a bit of money spent on the upgrade in the last couple of years. We all had a great time, spending days out and about on the island but always looking forward to coming back to the house. Would certainly go again!

  • "Had a fantastic early September break at St Davids."

Our party consisted of eight, age range 2 - 92. Location is pretty near perfect as a base for a short walk into Yarmouth or discovering the many delights that West Wight has to offer. The accommodation is homely but without being too fussy and the view from the sitting room is one to behold. We would recommend this property wholeheartedly and would look forward to booking again if/when we have another family break on the Island.

We all enjoyed watching the boats from the lounge window. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to family and friends. We walked into Yarmouth which only takes about 5 minutes andhas a number of good restaurants, which welcome families with small children

Parking for our four cars and only 10 minutes walk from central Yarmouth. Great sea views from upstairs lounge. All family really enjoyed our break and would highly recommend

  • "The house was ideally placed to view the Solent and the sea views from the lounge were enticing."

The bedrooms were spacious and there was plenty of room to relax and also, get together as a family. Our party consisted of 8, including an 8 month old baby and his great grandmother of 86. St David's is ideally situated with a lovely walk along the sea front to Yarmouth (some really good restaurants and sunsets) and the bus goes right outside the door. I can highly recommend the walk to the station restaurant for breakfast, called 'Off the rails'. We all enjoyed the amazing food and view of the river and nature reserve. The house is located within easy driving distance of many tourist sites and our children, (aged over 25), really enjoyed the Needles and the Llama walk. This holiday was full of surprises and we would highly recommend St David's as a base for your holiday experience.

  • "Our party of 11, ranging in age from 20 months to 62 years, had a sensational time at St Davids."

We were very impressed when we arrived at how the house had been presented. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very well appointed and the beds extremely comfortable. We could lose various members of our family amongst the many rooms. The lounge and conservatory became playrooms, but once the young ones were asleep were very quickly social areas for chatting and more games. The lounge is ideal and the view spectacular. The kitchen dining and laundry areas were ideal for the size of our party. We took advantage of the garden for a barbeque, swingball, a paddling pool and many balls games. We have even left a red frisbee in one of the trees!! We felt St Davids was ideally positioned both for walking into the lovely town of Yarmouth along the coastal or railway paths and for travelling further afield. We went fossil hunting at Compton Bay, Crabbing at The Duver and visits to Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill Country Park and Tapnell Farmpark were also enjoyed. We hope very much to return one day.

  • "The location of this house is just fantastic."

It's ideally situated for exploring the west of the island and there are lots of good pubs and restaurants nearby. The house itself exceeded expectations with its well fitted kitchen, very comfortable extra large beds, and everything was exceptionally clean. The bathrooms and shower rooms were very modern and the smart TVs and high speed WIFI were ideal for the younger members of the family. I would highly recommend this property for anyone's holiday on the Isle of Wight.

About the location

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
