“Furniture was not comfortable in the living area especially for your guests.”
“Very nice house, small, but all we needed was there.”
Warm welcome with coffee and tea, clean house. Had a lovely 2 weeks. Only 1 comment: the sea was not 10 minutes away, as was stated in the description. We are fit people with 2 children who are used to walking, but 1,3 miles is not to walk in 10 minutes. But after all, we enjoyed our holiday very much.
“Absolutely loved this cottage, it was beautiful!”
It was presented to a really high standard and felt really homely. Would highly recommend. Location was also great - within walking distance of shops, Minnis bay and Quex Park (which was a nice find). It’s also really well positioned for exploring the rest of Kent, with nowhere more than 30 min drive and Margate only 10mins away.
“Perfect location for a peaceful holiday.”
Flint cottage lived up to all it's descriptions with no disappointments. It is in an ideal location for getting around the Kent coast from Whitstable to Dover. Quex park nearby is well worth a visit on a fine day and the walk from the cottage to Minnis Bay is easily made with views of Reculver in the distance. Parking in Essex Road was not a problem and the only minor inconvenience was the bathroom/toilet being downstairs in the annexe with both bedrooms upstairs. Having said that we would happily stay there again in the future.
“Bathroom downstairs and steep staircase not good for anyone with mobility problems however as we are both fit it didn't bother us!”
“A perfect cottage for two”
This small cosy cottage was just right for us - it was a great location as we were able to walk straight from the house right across the fields to the sea at Minnis Bay. We saw lots of great wildlife particularly birds and also a hare which we really enjoyed. It was a great base from which to go out and visit friends and family in Thanet and further afield, and although we were lucky with the weather which was mainly dry and not too cold, it was clearly a cosy cottage with its woodburner. Perfect for 2 of us, but probably a bit small for two couples - especially the kitchen in which it would have been difficult to get 4 around the table. Also one of the bedrooms faced onto quite a busy and noisy road
“Delightfully cosy cottage”
We were very lucky to be able to get a last minute booking for this cottage considering it appears to be fully booked now up until September. It has been decorated with enormous style and thought and everything was of the highest quality. It was extremely comfortable and perfect for the two of us. There is a very sweet garden and we were lucky to be able to eat outside every day. Birchington and Minnis Bay are close by and parking there was very easy. Good shops and a super beach - very simple and unspoilt. There is also very easy access to the buses and station and we enjoyed exploring the coast from east to west. All highly recommended!
“Convenient, comfortable, clean, charming cottage”
Flint Cottage is in an excellent location to explore Kent. There is a railway station at Birchington, making it only 1 and a half hours from St Pancras International. There is a bus stop a few minutes walk from the Cottage. Short drive to the Turner Contemporary, Margate. Other seaside towns and Canterbury are easy to get to. Birchington itself has plenty of places to eat and drink ( including a microbrewery) and it is lovely to see so many independent shops. Dante Rossetti is buried in the local churchyard. Flint Cottage itself is charming with very good facilities and a lovely outside space. We stayed during a heatwave but the wood burning stove makes the Cottage an all year round venue. The welcome pack was much appreciated.
