"Rover Cottage is very well laid out and has everything that you would require for a peaceful and relaxing holiday."
Owners Nicky and Steve are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them and at the same time just let you get on and enjoy yourselves. Just a 3 - 4 minute stroll from a lovely beach (ideal for people with a dog) with a promenade stretching into the distance. With a number of coastal resorts nearby Rover Cottage is an ideal base for touring the Kent coast or inland countryside.

"A beautiful holiday let with friendly hosts."
If I had to be critical, it is a bit cramped but that is the nature of the building and adds to its cosy charm.

"We found Rover Cottage an ideal location for the beach and walks around the local area of Dymchurch."
Nicky and Steve made us very welcome and provided with a few essentials in the fridge on our arrival, our dog loved the bag of treats left for him. The cottage is compact and cosy and the wood burner which we lit on our last evening soon warmed the cottage. The stairs to the bedroom would perhaps be a bit of a challenge to the less agile. We have no hesitation in recommending Rover Cottage.

"Rover Cottage makes a great base for a holiday on the south coast with many places of interest and great days out only a short drive away."
Alternatively the beach is a few minutes walk from the cottage or the Romney Hythe railway just a 20 minute stroll away. The cottage has everything you could need and the owners, Nicky and Steve are very pleasant, approachable people. All in all, an excellent property.

"The cottage, hosts and area were wonderful."
The cottage is lovely and close to the sea and far enough away from the centre for it to be peaceful. A short walk and you’re in the heart of Dymchurch with all the fun of a small seaside resort.
The cottage was spotless and so pretty. There was everything we could have wanted: constant hot water, well appointed kitchen and Netflix. This is a great base for exploring the area but also days on the beach a stones throw away.
We don’t usually go back to places as we like to see somewhere new each year but I’ve already looked at availability for later in the year, so breaking the mould for us.

"Nicky and Steve were fabulous hosts they were there to welcome us when we arrived, and it was a lovely surprise to find treats for us and our dog Lynas too."
They had put a great guide to the cottage together including history of it which was good to know, as well as important information about the cottage and local area.
The cottage although small was perfect for our stay, very well equipped and decorated.
Dymchurch is a lovely seaside village, everything you need within a few minutes walk.

"Rover Cottage is a lovely little oasis very close to an excellent beach."
Everything we could possibly want for our holiday was provided, and the owners are very helpful, friendly, and available if you need them, without being at all intrusive. Rover has a small garden enclosed by a low picket fence, and is within the wider double-gated property, which we felt was very secure for our small dog. There is an additional dining seating area just outside Rover's garden. We parked right outside Rover's garden fence, and never touched the car again until we headed home - we found Rover Cottage and surrounding area so relaxing we didn't end up doing any of the 'tourist' things we thought we might. The cottage itself is immaculately clean, with a well-equipped kitchen including a full-size fridge-freezer, and a washing machine in the inner lobby to the bathroom. The lounge-diner has a log-burner which we didn't unfortunately need, due to the very fortunate incredible weather(!), and a tv with Netflix. Wi-fi was excellent - my husband WFH one day, and did video-calls as well as normal computer work, with no trouble. The steps up to the bedroom are a bit tricky, but there are two handrails and other spots to grab on - going up is fine, coming down less so. If you have big feet, you need to go extra slow on the descent! The bed is extremely comfortable, and the bedroom has two nice windows for fresh air while sleeping. There is plenty of storage space, including a sensor light in the wardrobe, and a full-length mirror (which is a rarity in holiday accommodation). They've even got a fire ladder to use from the first floor bedroom window, if it was ever needed - as I say, the owners have thought of literally everything! Towels and bedding excellent quality, and there were treats for our dog, milk, juice, coffee/tea/sugar, biscuits, etc. on arrival. And a touch we really liked was the environmental cleaning products and loo roll - we are going to purchase some of the same now, as we liked them so much. All in all a wonderful week, and we hope to get back to Rover Cottage in the autumn and/or winter. The Ship Inn pub just around the corner had delicious food and drink, and was dog-friendly in the bar area for meals. The centre of Dymchurch with a range of shops/cafes is a short walk either along the road or on the multi-level sea-wall promenade. The beach at Dymchurch is fantastic, when the tide is out you get very wide flat sands - quite busy in the village area, but quieter near Rover Cottage, and is dog-friendly at either end during peak season (not from Rover Cottage's area through Dymchurch to the parking at the martello tower) - if you have a dog who likes the beach, they will have plenty of beach they are allowed to run on.

The cottage was perfect for me. Clean, cosy, all the facilities I needed and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.
The cottage is a few steps from a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles and Romney Marsh. Also not far from Dungeness and various other places worth a visit.

The owners, Nicky and Steve and daughter Sarah were very welcoming and helpful. The food and drink gifts were a nice surprise, the home grown tomatoes and chutney were very tasty!
