Everything worked as advertised (well maintained). Usability was very good, comfort was excellent and the cottage is in a good location. The host were extremely helpful and very quickly managed any issue no matter how small. The "user manual" had every thing that could possibly be needed. Just for future reference... the GPS co-ordinates for the driveway are:- 51.085360, 0.283636

Thank you for providing us with such lovely feedback on your stay at Granary Cottage. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time away and appreciate you bringing the GPS co-ordinates to our attention. We hope to welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, HideAways. Parking is secure. The cosy lounge area is the perfect place to curl up on the sofa after a busy day exploring the area. The kitchen is equipped with an oven and hob, fridge and washing machine. The bedroom offers a sumptuous king-size bed with excellent quality bed linen. A congenial place to relax or explore the outstanding county of Kent. Although we did not meet the owners, they made us feel very welcome. Thank you.

  • "Very high spec facilities, good kitchen ,excellent bed and all impeccably decorated."

The cottage is in a walled and automatically gated private space. A very busy, noisy B class road is close by. The cottage is double glazed but when we opened the bedroom window at night the traffic was disturbing. We assumed that, as for last Sykes site, 'cottage' implied direct access to the countryside and the many local walks, But the local verges had no pedestrian access, we had to drive to reach any walks and found few parking areas. Our own usable outdoor space was a brick floored circle (as the site images show), but we felt uncomfortably confined. Visitors set on sightseeing might have felt differently.

We specially enjoyed visiting several houses and gardens, including Sissinghurst, Bateman’s, Bodiam Castle, Penshurst and Standen House - all in easy range and interesting in their different ways. Wadhurst provides all the shopping we needed and we enjoyed a good Indian meal there and at a pub in Frant. In short, our week in the cottage was grand and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the kinds of things I’ve mentioned.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped and our privacy was respected. Sitting in the pretty courtyard was lovely with the added bonus of beautiful weather all week! I would like to add that although once you are through the gates to the property it is quiet and private, it is on a busy road which you can hear late at night and early morning especially when upstairs. But we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

It was a comfortable, coy place to relax after a day of visiting Sissinghurst and many other Sussex and Kent historical sights. It is completely self contained and has everything you need even if you want to cook, which we did not. The owner was available, if needed, but you have total privacy. • "Granary Cottage was a wonderful place to stay."

Well located in a quiet rural setting close to amenities and Tunbridge Wells. The cottage was very well presented, warm, cosy and comfortable. Clare has thought of everything and equipped the cottage with everything you might need especially for those who like to cook. The little extras such as the fruit and lovely biscuits were very welcome. We have stayed in many cottages throughout the world over the years and this rates as one of the best - well done Clare.

Clare the owner has done a fantastic job of ensuring the cottage is equipped with everything you need, from a garlic crusher to a clothes airer should you feel the need to do some washing on your break! The cottage has been decorated to a high standard and is clean and fresh and promotes a relaxing environment for a great break away. We loved it so much we really didn't want to leave! Everything is top-notch, very clean, cozy, warm, the shower is great and everything works wonderfully. The owners Clare and Jeremy and their children are very kind and generous people. We didn't have a car so Clare helped us buy groceries before we arrived and offered to give us lift to town. About the location

ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS

Lamberhurst 7 miles; Hever 9 miles; Maidstone 15 miles; Rochester 18 miles.

Royal Tunbridge Wells has been a popular place to visit for over 400 years, ever since a natural spring, known as The Chalybeate Spring, was unearthed by chance by a young nobleman. Due to the discovery of these health-giving waters, Royal Tunbridge Wells quickly became a magnet to those looking to improve their well-being whilst enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside. The Wells are still open from Easter to September, where a costumed ‘dipper’ will serve you a glass for a small charge. With a wealth of interesting history to discover, this spa town now offers a vibrant, bustling destination with shops, restaurants, bars, bistros and theatres surrounded by woodland and greenery. You only have to spend a day walking the cobbled streets, browsing the boutiques and mulling over the items to be found in any of the curio or antiques shops, tucked away in the side streets, to see why this ancient town is one of the most visited in Kent. Enjoy a coffee and slice of cake in one of the plentiful pavement cafes as you relax, before taking in a play or concert at the one of the three theatres. This lively town offers everything from shops to cycle paths, pubs to parks, museums and historic houses, theatres, restaurants and walking routes into the country, so whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend or a longer holiday exploring the historic towns and villages of Kent, then you’ve found the perfect spot.
