  • "We had a really nice time at the cottage ."

Pictures all do it justice and was nice and clean , A couple of points to mention , would have been nice to have a path up to the front door as it rained a lot and we had to walk over the wet mud and grass area . In general a lovely place but just needs a little bit of tlc in a couple of areas Would 100% go back again as host was lovely and so friendly

  • "Nice place."

Very helpful owner. Tastefully furnished and practically supplied. TV reception very poor, obviously a difficult location for a satellite dish, so bring your own Firestick (or similar) because the internet is excellent. Recommended - will return.

  • "Reference to location being near Broad Oak and Rye is incorrect and could be misleading."

Delightful accommodation and Owner very welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Garden although small needs some TLC. Very remote location and narrow lanes which seems "normal" for the area.

  • "Having booked the Lodge at relatively short notice I was very pleased with my choice."

Whilst being pretty rural and therefore very peaceful there was still good access to the roads for plenty of sightseeing. The house and facilities were excellent and the welcome warm, we all had an enjoyable stay.

  • "We booked this cottage the night before we turned up (long story but our original plans for the weekend couldn't go ahead)."

We called sykes at 7pm on the Friday evening and they very quickly called the owner to check it was available for the next day. We cannot thank sykes and the cottage owner enough. You really saved our weekend and the friends i travelled with are so grateful, especially as the owner was away celebrating a birthday. Also, really lovely touch with the welcome bottle of wine and chocolate. Someone related to the owner did come and check in on us as we arrived to make sure everything was okay too. On the day we arrived, we spent the afternoon chilling outside on the patio in the sun. So nice and quiet other than hearing the wildlife. Then whilst eating our breakfast on the large dining table, we enjoyed looking through the windows where across the road we watched the wildlife in the trees (deers and rabbits we think). So this was a lovely relaxing time spent and thank you again for the owner who was able to accommodate us so quickly and who saved our weekend!

I’m so pleased you had a good time your lovely words have brought a tear to my eye I’m just sorry I didn’t get to see you We always try to accommodate our guests on a urgent situation which is why we turn our lodges around immediately after vacating So we are always ready Love Haze xxx ya all come back now x Property Owner

I'd recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful break in the countryside with easy access to amenities. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful Lodge

  • "A generously sized property with lovely gardens and gorgeous surroundings."

The Lodge has been carefully decorated and furnished to a high standard, overall, but the sitting area in the open plan kitchen/ dining/ lounge was, for us, really uncomfortable. The sofa is really low to the floor and difficult to get out of...and we're fit! A small, occasional table would be useful for putting cups on - we made use of the little one on the patio, which worked well. The bathroom is clean and well fitted, but the water pressure is unfortunately low and the cabinet above the sink, with in-built shelf makes it impossible to bend over the sink when brushing teeth, without bumping your head! The kitchen cold tap needs some attention as it makes a really loud vibration noise every time it is turned on. Finally, a little path leading from the welcome parking area to the front door of the property would be a helpful addition, to avoid bringing mud and leaves in - especially now that Autumn is in full swing. We hope that these few points will be taken as positive suggestions as we did have a lovely time and would happily return to The Lodge in the future. Haze and George were absolutely lovely and the wine and chocs were a kind welcome gift. Many thanks.
