We enjoyed our stay very much but you should be aware of the following issues that you should raise with the owner: 1. Try as we might, we could not work out how to open the front door (leading into the kitchen). We had to use the door into the dining room the whole trip. 2. The shower was completely unfit for purpose. Water dribbled out without any kind of power at all. Hot water was impossible to control and only intermittently available. 3. There were no instructions at all about any of the appliances worked and, although we did work them all out eventually, we felt this was inconsiderate. 4. What appeared to be the TV remote did not work the TV, other than turn it on. We eventually realised there was another (Sky) remote (away on a shelf) & the TV then worked fine. 5. The DVD remote did not appear to work at all until we discovered it had no batteries in it! We transferred the batteries from the non-working TV remote & the DVD then worked fine. 6. We paid a £100 deposit (against damage) to the owner 7 days in advance as requested. The terms said it would be repaid 'within a couple of days'. 6 days after we left, we had not been reimbursed. I emailed the owner who then reimbursed us by BACS transfer. He really should not need reminding. The overall impression is that this is a very nice cottage but the owner could be more attentive to the state of the facilities. When we are paying over £100 per night, we do not expect to encounter such 'puzzles' to work out for ourselves.
