“I am a Sykes cottage owner and know the advice to owners re the Covid and how to make our holiday lets comfortable and safe to the guests and found this house coming up short of expectations.”

I was advised to remove all cushions and soft furnishings from my property as it’s impossible to make covid safe between lets however the cushions at this holiday let have seen better days and looked dirty not sure how covid safe they are.... There are many vases everywhere full of old fake/dried flowers that only add to the same concerns.... There is a leak from the roof into the smaller bedroom on the top floor when it rains causing a constant drip drip and wet carpet. Many of the lamps light bulbs were not working and none of the clocks batteries were working as I personally know from experience this attention to detail means a lot when letting our properties!! The parking is a battle every time you move your car. For very little effort this house could be very much improved for guests comfort.

Casa Mar Bella is a large four storey Georgian house that has 5 double bedrooms, a double sized lounge, large dining room, dining kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It is located 1 minute away from the beach, enjoys sea views and is also minutes away from the town centre, the harbour and numerous amenities that Ramsgate has on offer. We have run this family business with a lot of pride and love for over 6 years and we consistently get beautiful comments and compliments about the comfort of the beds, the large size of all the rooms, the location, its proximity to the beach, the lovely walks and nice surroundings that are accessible from the house, etc. I am sorry if the details you described have made an adverse impact in your comfort. Nevertheless, I appreciate the feedback and have fixed them all now. The parking outside the house, as you were advised prior to your arrival, can be sometimes tricky in the summer, as it’s in any seaside town centre, and more so because it is free of charge for unlimited time, which is also appreciated by most guest. Alternative free unlimited parking is available minutes away, of which you were informed. For your peace of mind, the house had been emptied prior to your group arrival for 4 nights. Since the Covid advice is to allow about 2 days between bookings when possible, the fact that we put back some cushions and other decorative items that day for you would not have diminished the Covid safe status of the house. Hand and wipe sanitisers are available to guests in various points of the house to help the potential spread and I can assure that keeping the house safe is our priority right now and for that our cleaning protocols have been followed throughout. Being a host yourself, I am sure you understand how important feedback from your guests is and the impact that a good or bad review can have on the business. I am sure your negative and adverse input was well intended and I thank you for that. As I said, I have taken note and fixed all thoselittle problems at once. I wish you all the best - Sykes owner relations
