The property

Cledge is a pleasant bungalow, set in the picturesque village of St Margaret's at Cliffe, near to St Margarets Bay, resting on and around the white-chalk cliffs, Kent.

This holiday cottage is the ideal base for families eager to explore the neighbouring towns of Dover and Deal.

As you pull up to the charming bungalow, wander down the graveled pathway, through the well-kept front garden, to the side entrance of the home.

Step inside the utility room, pull of your muddy boots and head into the hallway where you can hang your coats and discover your bedroom for the duration of your stay.

Unpack your belongings in the one of the three bedrooms; two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and one bunk bedroom.

Guests staying in the roomy double can spend the morning getting ready in style with a refreshing shower in the en-suite shower room.

Whip up an impressive breakfast in the fully-fitted kitchen whilst your family gather in the living room at the dining table, to map out the plans for the day.

Once full from tucking into your breakfast, take a few moments to rest on the sofas by the gas woodburner effect stove, before leaving the cottage to discover all of the excitement that St Margaret's at Cliffe has to offer.

After an action-packed day in the local area, draw yourself a bath in the family bathroom and indulge in some quiet time.

When the sun is shining and the weather is warm, entertain guests on the patio with some alfresco dining around the garden table.

Take a walk to St Margaret's Bay Beach and admire the impressive white cliffs as you make your way back to to the Cledge.

Take care with the steep steps as they may not be for the less active.

Enjoy a scenic walk to Dover and spend the day lost in the history of the many historic sites including Bell Battery, Dover Castle, and Roman Lighthouse and take your time as you amble through Pencester Gardens.

On your return to St Margaret's at Cliffe, stop by one of the many eateries and cleanse your pallet with a pint at one of the locals.

About the location

ST MARGARET'S AT CLIFFE

Dover 4 miles; Deal 5.5 miles; Folkestone 12 miles; Canterbury 18.5 miles

This delightful little spot rests along the famous and idyllic White Cliffs of Dover, on the South Foreland Heritage Coast of Kent. St Margaret's at Cliffe also contains the neighbouring village of St Margarate's Bay, both of which offer a choice of charming local amenities, you can also find the Dover Patrol Memorial, the Pines Garden Tea Room and Museum and the striking Foreland Lighthouse - all of which are worth a look around. A gap in the cliffs presents a lovely shingle beach with opportunities for rock-pooling and a pub serving food which overlooks it as well as being opposite the house previously occupied by Noel Coward and Ian Fleming. This is the point from which swimmers of the English Channel depart. Dover sits just four miles away with it's famous castle, attractive seafront, pier and marina and much more to see and do. The Kent Downs AONB is within a stone's throw for avid walkers and cyclists, while many more characterful coastal spots can be found close by; Folkestone, Ramsgate and Margate to name but a few. The unique and striking cathedral city of Canterbury is also within reach for a different experience.
