  • "From arriving until leaving we had a fantastic time."

Catherine is wonderful at communicating and keeping in touch to make sure everything is ok. The caravan itself is on a lovely quiet site that is close to many places to visit and also has a pool and small bar area and kids playground. The caravan was immaculate on arriving and had a very homely feel, equipped with everything you need for your holiday. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. Plenty of toys, dvds and games for the kids. There were even blankets and treats provided for our dog. The bedding and other furnishings provided are top quality. The little garden that is secure backs on to a field with 2 lovely horses and is relaxing to sit after a long day of sight seeing. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second in recommending booking with Catherine. Thank you so much for a lovely, comfortable stay, 5 stars all the way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When we arrived there was a welcome pack with goodies. The whole place was spotless and comfortable. There was a small enclosed garden at the back which came in handy for our little dog (although he preferred the massive field just a few metres away). Lovely relaxing holiday, would recommend to anyone.

Hi Linda thank you for taking the time in submitting your review and I was so pleased to read that you had a lovely stay and that the accommodation was both clean and comfortable. We have recently changed our welcome goodies and it does seem to be a hit with guests. I am glad that you found the massive field it really is a bonus to the location of Moonstone Lodge both for dog owners and/or walkers. The recommendation was really appreciated and maybe you would consider visiting us again to explore the area further. Smiles Catherine Property Owner

All needs are catered for and we would have no hesitation in recommending Moonstone Lodge . We were able to walk along the White Cliffs and take in the breath taking views . Another ‘tick’ on our bucket list . St Margaret’s bay , Deal , Sandwich , Whitstable and Herne Bay are also well worth a visit . If the weather is not in your favour , the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum at Manston is a perfect place to go . Thank you Catherine and David , Moonstone Lodge is a credit to you and we would love to come again .

  • "We had a lovely two weeks staying in Moonstone Lodge."

The property was very clean and had all the facilities we needed for our stay, I was concerned about Wi-Fi reception but this was acceptable using my mobile phone signal. The site itself is fairly quiet and well maintained with the use of a large field for dog exercise well away from roads as well as a gym, pool and bar should you require them. There are some stunning cliff walks within a short distance and I made good use of the National Cycle Network which runs from the village into Walmer and beyond. The property is ideally situated for exploring this corner of Kent with good road links to neighbouring towns, a large Tesco is just a ten minute drive away. We were glad we chose this property and area for our holiday, we made full use of our English Heritage cards and there was plenty to see and do nearby. No flight cancellations or airport queues to worry us!

  • "The site itself was a little disappointing."

It was supposed to be dog friendly we were allowed to walk the dogs on the grass of the site on condition we cleaned up after the dogs, this was very good. The disappointment came had we wanted to walk the dogs off site, the roads were NOT suitable for two ladies over 70 and two toy poodles to walk safely. Without a car visitors would be stuck on the site the whole of the holiday, we enjoyed our week but left the site each day to visit various tourist sites in the area. The facilities onsite were as advertised, but the shop was not well stocked, late on in the season we were told. Parking was not particularly well laid out, some of which proved to be permanent residents on the site. Had we known that people lived on site permanently we may not have chosen that site to holiday in. Moonstone Lodge was comfortable and I have to commend the owner on the home from home that they had arranged for us. We tried to clean the van each day and to be aware of all the facilities that were installed. All cooking utensils that you could dream of were in that van Cleaning clothes, cleaning products were all there. The beds were comfortable and the bedding more than adequate, the owners had put electric blankets on each bed for us as the weather had turned colder. Having two small dogs with us, we decided to hoover the van, there was a Hoover, a fully charged small bag less type. We noted that it was struggling to pickup anything on the carpets and on checking the machine, it was obvious that the brushes had never been cleaned. We took 15 mins to cut the accumulated hair, cottons, elastic bands, plus embedded dust from the rollers. We were disgusted by this and left the evidence for the owners to find in a small plastic bag.

  • "I have experienced a lot of self catering properties but not stayed in a static caravan before however I would not hesitate to recommend this one to others."

The owners went out of their way on all fronts to provide a good quality experience. The information provided before the visit was comprehensive and thorough especially in respect of COVID-19 issues, and they were easy to get in touch with if we needed to. The property was really clean, very well presented and comfortable, and a great family environment. The garden was well set up to be dog friendly. Also they provided us a package of thoughtful and useful things - including essentials we might have forgotten but also a range of small extras which were greatly appreciated. The site overall has very good facilities (swimming pool, shop, launderette, restaurant) and this property has a particularly good, quiet location within the overall site.

Catherine, the owner couldn't have been more helpful and made us feel so welcome. It was a big bonus to have a private garden especially if you take a dog with you. Just behind the garden was a field with horses in and we discovered some lovely scenic fields to walk the dog right next to the park. St Margarets bay beach was just a short drive away and lovely and quiet. I would definitely recommend this if you want a quiet relaxing break away from it all. Best caravan I've ever stayed in.

Internally, the lodge is well-decorated to provide a comfortable accommodation, with an open-plan living area to the front and the bedrooms at the rear.

The kitchen is compact in size but offers all the necessary appliances to whip up a filling feast, whilst the sitting area houses a large corner sofa where you will find yourself dozing off in the evening.
