  • "We had a lovely two weeks staying in Moonstone Lodge."

The property was very clean and had all the facilities we needed for our stay, I was concerned about Wi-Fi reception but this was acceptable using my mobile phone signal. The site itself is fairly quiet and well maintained with the use of a large field for dog exercise well away from roads as well as a gym, pool and bar should you require them. There are some stunning cliff walks within a short distance and I made good use of the National Cycle Network which runs from the village into Walmer and beyond. The property is ideally situated for exploring this corner of Kent with good road links to neighbouring towns, a large Tesco is just a ten minute drive away. We were glad we chose this property and area for our holiday, we made full use of our English Heritage cards and there was plenty to see and do nearby. No flight cancellations or airport queues to worry us!

It is beautifully fitted out and spotlessly clean, the photos do not do it justice. The owner was always on hand if needed and the park was very peaceful and well maintained. On top of all that we had lovely weather - a bonus indeed.

The lodge was like home from home. If there was any problems the owners dealt with it immediately even came out in the cold and rain for a very minor problem. We will definitely go back.

Hello Sandra Many thanks for your amazing feedback, we are pleased to read that you had a wonderful time, albeit the weather was most unkind to you. We would love to welcome you back. Smiles Catherine and David Property Owner

  • "Moonstone Lodge was incredibly accommodating- from the Holiday Park’s entertainment facilities to the attention and effort in making sure that our stay was relaxing and enjoyable."

The Lodge itself was of a very high standard of cleanliness with good hot water shower facilities. The garden at the rear of the lodge was secluded and quite. It was a joy to be in after a hard day of rambling with the mutt. Well done - definitely a 5 star!

Such nice people and the lodge was a wow factor decor was very good we have no complaints and would strongly recommend nice and comfortable place and very nice enclosed garden owners great, The only thing I would say Parkdean need to lay more on for the kids and they need to addresses the parking as with more units coming on the site it will be fighting for space to park that is a big priority for the site and owners

  • "Caravan was extremely well presented and had everything you could possibly need."

Photos dont do it justice. Its situated in a fantastic position with a rear garden overlooking fields and feels extremely private. We really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the horses on an evening and sitting outside in the morning. Lovely welcome pack was left for us and was probably the cleanest caravan I've ever stayed in you can tell the owner has an eye for detail. Thank you for a great stay.

  • "The site itself was a little disappointing."

It was supposed to be dog friendly we were allowed to walk the dogs on the grass of the site on condition we cleaned up after the dogs, this was very good. The disappointment came had we wanted to walk the dogs off site, the roads were NOT suitable for two ladies over 70 and two toy poodles to walk safely. Without a car visitors would be stuck on the site the whole of the holiday, we enjoyed our week but left the site each day to visit various tourist sites in the area. The facilities onsite were as advertised, but the shop was not well stocked, late on in the season we were told. Parking was not particularly well laid out, some of which proved to be permanent residents on the site. Had we known that people lived on site permanently we may not have chosen that site to holiday in. Moonstone Lodge was comfortable and I have to commend the owner on the home from home that they had arranged for us. We tried to clean the van each day and to be aware of all the facilities that were installed. All cooking utensils that you could dream of were in that van Cleaning clothes, cleaning products were all there. The beds were comfortable and the bedding more than adequate, the owners had put electric blankets on each bed for us as the weather had turned colder. Having two small dogs with us, we decided to hoover the van, there was a Hoover, a fully charged small bag less type. We noted that it was struggling to pickup anything on the carpets and on checking the machine, it was obvious that the brushes had never been cleaned. We took 15 mins to cut the accumulated hair, cottons, elastic bands, plus embedded dust from the rollers. We were disgusted by this and left the evidence for the owners to find in a small plastic bag.

  • "I have experienced a lot of self catering properties but not stayed in a static caravan before however I would not hesitate to recommend this one to others."

The owners went out of their way on all fronts to provide a good quality experience. The information provided before the visit was comprehensive and thorough especially in respect of COVID-19 issues, and they were easy to get in touch with if we needed to. The property was really clean, very well presented and comfortable, and a great family environment. The garden was well set up to be dog friendly. Also they provided us a package of thoughtful and useful things - including essentials we might have forgotten but also a range of small extras which were greatly appreciated. The site overall has very good facilities (swimming pool, shop, launderette, restaurant) and this property has a particularly good, quiet location within the overall site.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Moonstone Lodge, everything in the caravan was really new and clean, it was amazing compared to other caravans I've stayed in."

Catherine, the owner couldn't have been more helpful and made us feel so welcome. It was a big bonus to have a private garden especially if you take a dog with you. Just behind the garden was a field with horses in and we discovered some lovely scenic fields to walk the dog right next to the park. St Margarets bay beach was just a short drive away and lovely and quiet. I would definitely recommend this if you want a quiet relaxing break away from it all. Best caravan I've ever stayed in.

Internally, the lodge is well-decorated to provide a comfortable accommodation, with an open-plan living area to the front and the bedrooms at the rear.

The kitchen is compact in size but offers all the necessary appliances to whip up a filling feast, whilst the sitting area houses a large corner sofa where you will find yourself dozing off in the evening.

Ideally accommodating a family of four, the bedrooms consist of a double with en-suite shower room and a twin, which is perfect for kids, but there is an additional sofa bed in the sitting room for two more guests.

The holiday park offers lots to keep the kids happy with a swimming pool and a 5-acre field for family games or dog walking.

Adults can take advantage of the fitness facilities with a pool big enough for swimming lengths, a gym, sauna and steam room to relieve and recover your muscles.

For your convenience, you can also find a small shop and a laundry on site.

The surrounding area offers a quieter pace of life amidst beautiful landscapes – take a serene walk along the white cliffs of Dover to capture unrivalled sea views, or visit the Victorian lighthouse and discover the early scientific inventions and ground breaking experiments used many years ago.

Explore the local town of Deal, the Georgian coastal town boasts two castles, both open to the public, two small museums, and two markets held weekly, where you can sample local produce.

Visit the Historic, medieval town of Sandwich, where you can tour its waterways and view its architecture.

On your return to St Margaret’s at Cliffe, stop by at one of the many eateries and cleanse your pallet with a pint at one of the locals.

A peaceful getaway to be enjoyed, any time of year.

For the keen golfer, there are acclaimed clubs at Kingsdown and Sandwich.

St Margaret's at Cliffe also contains the neighbouring village of St Margarate's Bay, both of which offer a choice of charming local amenities, you can also find the Dover Patrol Memorial, the Pines Garden Tea Room and Museum and the striking Foreland Lighthouse - all of which are worth a look around.
