Whitstable 2.3 miles; Herne Bay 3.4 miles; Canterbury 6.6 miles; Dover 22.8 miles.

Swalecliffe is on the north coast of Kent, between Whitstable and Herne Bay, and dates back to the Norman times with sketches of its local church, which no longer remains. The small suburb is home to a beach, the Long Rock Nature Reserve, some great pubs and bars, a train station, a fish and chip shop, a post office, a Mediterranean restaurant and the shoreside Seaview Holiday Park. Further along the coast, to the suburb of Tankerton there is a larger selection of amenities and a shingle beach with a promenade and colorful huts. The nearby village of Chestfield has a golf course, whilst in the other direction the seaside town of Whitstable has a Heritage museum in a 17th century building, a stunning harbour and an array of restaurants serving local produce. Take a drive to Herne Bay, the seaside town which offers an iconic 18th century waterfront clock tower, as well as local museums and art galleries, the lovely Herne Bay Memorial Park and of course, the popular beach!
