It was perfect for our trip to the White Cliffs Coast. The house was comfortable, well equipped and beautifully furnished! It was a warm welcoming home to return to after exploring some wonderful walks in the area. There was so much to keep us busy in the house, books, games, table football..We appreciated the lovely garden even on a wet autumn day. The views were a delight! Thank you!

  • "We had a lovely time at Pentire House."

The garden is beautiful with many different spots to sit in and enjoy the views. We loved the kitchen diner and spent most of our time there for the floor to ceiling view of the cliffs and across the channel. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and prepare meals. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and nice treat. Our beds and bedrooms were comfortable and the power showers were fab! There were more amazing views to be had from the bedroom windows too. Plenty of parking for 4 cars. We had 2 cars and had more then enough room. We enjoyed the walks along the cliff top ( you can walk to the Dover Patrol Monument) and into Kingsdown village. Nice little butcher/deli who even gave a treat to our doggy. Pub on the beach has lots of outside seating and is doggy friendly too. The main reason for staying was for the amazing views. And they did not disappoint. Thank you.

It’s our second time here as we loved it so much the first time. There is something for everyone to do rain or shine. Completely child friendly house and garden. Dog friendly with fantastic walks along the cliffs or down to the beach. The fixtures and furnishings are to a high quality and it oozes luxury. The views are utterly amazing, my children adore watching the ships and boats with the binoculars (provided) whether it’s raining or a sunny day the views don’t disappoint. The garden is beautiful with lots for all to do, whether it’s reading a book, playing football, hide and seek, rounders, basket ball or having a bbq plus much more. Pentire House is a hidden gem and won’t disappoint. We will be back for sure as it’s just perfect, a real hidden gem.

Kay and Mark have thought of everything to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. The house is in a stunning location with beautiful views from every room. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need and plenty of space for everyone to relax or help with the cooking. The gardens are beautifully laid out however March was not really the best time to be able to relax outside but still enjoyable looking at all the lovely shrubs and plants. Easy walking from the door in either direction but especially love the walk to St. Margaret's with a refreshment stop in the Coastguard. We did have a couple of days of wind and rain but when the place you are staying in is so warm and comfortable, what could be better than staying indoors playing games and just being with your family. We all loved it and would love to go back again.

  • "We were delighted with this property."

Our family group of 8 comprised 3 generations with ages ranging from 27 to 80, plus a dog. The spacious house and garden totally met our expectations and provided comfort and also entertainment for all of us, such as table tennis, pétanque etc. The ever changing colours of the sea, visible from all 4 bedrooms and both living rooms, constantly drew me back. The location is superb. We particularly love a holiday home which has instant access to unspoilt walks and Pentire House did not disappoint. Apart from the spectacular Coastal Path on our doorstep we found plenty of interesting places to visit in the area where dogs were welcome. Some of us left the dog in the care of others one afternoon and went to Walmer Castle. It’s a really beautiful place and if you don’t have a canine companion to consider you should definitely go there. Barnsole Vineyard might not be an obvious destination but all 8 of us plus dog spent a fascinating afternoon there being taken round by Phil, one of the owners. We also ate out a few times and would recommend Victuals & Co in Deal and The Smugglers in St. Margaret’s at Cliffe. We had tasty sausage baguettes for lunch at The Pines in St. Margaret’s too and would certainly recommend their cakes. A second week would have been marvellous - we’ll need to return to be able to visit some of the sites we didn’t get to this time. Sadly some of us have to work!

! The property is located on a cliff with stunning views of the channel. The whole property is beautifully maintained and has a huge garden. Our twin boys enjoyed playing Cricket, Basketball, Table Tennis, and football in the garden. While indoors they spent hours playing foosball. The town of Kingsdown is well connected with the rest of Kent. We visited various places nearby such as Dover and Leads castle, Margate beach, Canterbury, and Spitfire museum. Almost every day we walked and cycled on the cliff walks along the coast. The nearby pub Zetland is a must-visit for its location on the beach and Namaste Dover is highly recommended if you fancy a curry. Thank you Mark and Kay for your excellent hospitality.

  • "A dream house perched on a magical cliff-top location (the online photos really do not do it justice)!"

Our (multi-generation)family all had the most wonderful and unforgettable holiday during the week we spent at Pentire House. We found the house to be furnished to an extremely tasteful and high standard with brand new furnishings and appliances. It was spotlessly clean throughout, with 4 luxurious and spacious bedrooms upstairs and a very well-appointed kitchen and multiple seating areas downstairs. There were stunning sea views from all rooms on both floors. The garden, backing on to a golf course, was huge and beautifully laid out, so both the adults and children in our group had plenty to enjoy and keep themselves busy (e.g. basketball hoop, table-tennis, garden room etc). When we wanted to venture outside the house and its grounds, there was a magnificent coastal footpath on the doorstep, the beach was just a few minutes walk away and plenty of other Kent inland/beach attractions and sights were within the reach of a short car journey. The owners, Mark and Kay, were extremely courteous and very responsive and helpful on any query or issue that we had during our stay. All in all, Pentire House was truly a 5 star-plus experience for us! We look forward to returning soon! (IS and Family)

Off of the hall you can either go to the sunroom, which has been set up for quiet reading or contemplation over the stunning sea views.

For the budding artists amongst you, why not use the easel and create your own Turneresque paintings (Canvas, brushes and paints not included); or head to the sitting room with plenty of reclining seating in front of an open fire, TV and DVD player.

There is also separate seating for reading and a table that can be used for games, cards, or jigsaws.

The entire ground floor of the property provides direct access to the breath-taking wrap around garden, with various patios, a play area, a considerable lawn and BBQ station.

The front allows for sitting in the sun and gazing at the coast.

For those wishing to experience a foreign trip, why not book yourselves onto a ferry and do a day trip to Calais, France.

Alternatively, you could drive to Folkestone to travel to Calais by the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, or even be in Paris for lunch and return again in the same day.

Attractions include the triple spiral staircase of the Grand Shaft through the cliffs of Dover, the historic Dover Castle going back to William of Normandy in 1066 and jumping forward to the War Tunnels from the Second World War.
