  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

Was clean and comfortable, maybe a cupboard to put food in! Loved the little lavender bags and the fact the bathroom always smells so clean. We managed to work out how to use the appliances which for a couple of oldies was good . Hope to come back again .

  • "Very clean and comfortable and thought given to prevent spread of covid."

Kitchen very well stocked. Well situated with just a few minutes walk nto town. South facing deck overlooking the river. Just a word of caution Waves is approached via an unmade road with very deep potholes so would advise keeping to the edge or the road .

  • "Lovely apartment and stay, we will be staying again."

The only gripe was the dirt track access to all the properties. We realise this is not the property owners fault and maybe talks with Jempons Depot may be fruitful as the frequent HGV's attending are causing this issue. Kind Regards Paul & Jacqui

  • "This was our third booking at 7 Waves."

It suits our holiday needs perfectly. 7 Waves is very well equipped, spotlessly clean, comfortable and easy to keep warm, a big deal for holidays in November. We would have no hesitation in using 7 Waves again. The only slight negative is the state of the access road at the junction to the main road, not something you can control but worth a mention. Thanks for another great stay. Andy and Heather Stead

  • "Very comfortable accommodation in an amazing location, with easy access to Rye via Ypres tower or Mermaid Street, excellent walking routes to both Camber Sands, and Camber Castle and Winchelsea."

We stayed for four nights and had everything we needed as a base. Accommodation was mostly clean, however the dishwasher already contained items when we arrived and none of the bins were emptied, the bathroom and bedroom bins being full of previous guests items. Would recommend highly for a weekend break in Rye.

There was a button on the Remote but we couldn't make it work! Shame there is no recycling possible for these flats.

  • "We've stayed in Rye on previous occasions."

This was our first stay in 7 Waves though we've stayed in one of the upper floor apartments in the same block previously. The property is in a superb location close to the lovely town of Rye and all it has to offer. Very well located also for exploring the area. We found the fixtures and fittings to be of a very good quality and felt very comfortable there. However, we did feel it was very much let down within the kitchen area. No washing up liquid provided, only 4 dishwasher tablets. We struggled slightly with a lack of utensils also. Not a problem for anyone eating out regularly but a slight inconvenience otherwise. In a nutshell it was perhaps as if the apartment was not fully set up for 'self catering'. We'd happily stay there again but would be mindful of these matters in the future.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

The apartment was SO quiet and well situated. The goodies provided were very much appreciated. Personally the lack of a proper washing machine was not good and would influence whether we stayed for 2 weeks. We found no use for the dishwasher. The bathroom needed a small stool as we all get a little less stable as we get older. Also the bedroom could benfit from a small chair to put clothes on. .We were dismayed at the lack of any recycling facilities ( we took our recycling to a friend who lives in Westfield). Perhaps the Boathouse complex could invest in a recycling bin? We did have a lovely time

  • "My wife and thoroughly enjoyed our stay very quiet and relaxing in an extremely clean and comfortable accommodation."

We were also surprised with all the little extras supplied. We would have no problem recommending this venue to friends and family. Shops, Bars and restaurants only a six minute walk away , thank you for a memorable stay. I only had one issue that big lump of tarmac at the end of the accommodation had a bit of a problem getting over it as I have difficulty walking.

  • "Good location on the riverside with easy access to the old town of Rye, which is a delight."

However a few negatives: Sofa is not particularly comfortable to sit on. TV is awful, particularly the sound, and has no access to anything other than very basic Freeview (eg no access to Netflix, Prime etc). Welcome pack fairly useless. All rubbish goes in the same bin - why is there no recycling?

The location was perfect with bird watching from the deck, a quick drive or easy hike to the nature reserve with the added bonus of being very close to the stunning historical town of Rye -particularly useful as we had snow & icy conditions which limited driving. We now only stay in accomodation that DOESN'T allow pets as we've been shocked and appalled at the way some pet owners treat holidays homes, pubs & hotels. I will certainly recommend this property to friends. Congratulations on providing such a safe, clean, warm & importantly NO pets policy.

The shower drain was slow and was found to be blocked with soap and hair. The shower head was dirty. Old soap stuck to the shower tray. There was food waste in fridge, microwave and toaster. The kitchen sink drain was dirty and smelled. Suggest a deep clean.

I am so sorry for this. My regular cleaner was off with ill health and had got other people to do this which clearly wasn’t up to our usual standards as it’s always pristine. I apologise for any inconvenience this had caused you. Property Owner

The accommodation is of a high standard and very comfortable. It is situated in a tranquil location on the river with all its rich bird life. The terrace was perfect for a peaceful breakfast in the sunshine. Five minute walk to centre of Rye and the bus stop for Rye Harbour. Perfect location for walks too so we didn’t use the car once although we appreciated the convenient parking space. The nature reserve is a joy. Already looking forward to returning. Wendy & John

  • "We loved the quiet location and being able to watch wading birds from the living room or deck."

An excellent situation, not far from the centre of Rye and amenities. Everything was clean and comfortable (nice comfortable bed). Small caveats: for us, a normal size washing machine would have been more useful than a dishwasher and the sounds from the boiler in the bedroom could be a little disconcerting at night, even when the heating was off. Overall though, a lovely spot and delightful accommodation.

About the location

RYE

Camber 5 miles; Hastings 12 miles; Battle 16 miles.

Rye is a 13th century cinque port in East Sussex, host to the River Rother, Romney Marshes and a history dating back before the Norman Conquest. A cobbled town offering an excellent array of unusual shops, antique emporiums, galleries selling local artist paintings and pottery, Rye also has a delightful range of tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and historic inns. There is also a weekly general market on Thursdays, as well as a farmers’ market every Wednesday morning. The town played host to BBC film crews for nine weeks in the summer of 2014, while filming of the TV series Mapp and Lucia took place, which has now been made into a DVD. All coastal scenes were filmed in nearby Camber Sands and bits of filming also took place in Hastings and the Tenterden Town railway station. Walkers and birdwatchers can enjoy a footpath leading across the marshes to Camber Castle built by Henry VIII. Local attractions include miniature or full-size steam train rides, local vineyards, stately homes, castles, gardens and beaches, including the beautiful nearby Camber Sands. Artists and photographers will especially enjoy the scenery; big skies, winding roads, and picturesque villages with ancient inns and tea shops. A truly relaxing and wonderful holiday destination.
