  • "The Sunhouse was fabulous."

We highly reccommend it on the basis of good amenities, a kind and helpful host and a wonderful, wonderful location. This house is REALY near the sea. What a memorable holiday!

  • "The general areas of the cottage were lovely and homely."

But it says outdoor space which is basically a tiny, tiny courtyard surrounded by approx 8ft walls with no view and very little sun/light. The rooms were spacious and lovely decorated. The sofa in the living room could be doing with being renewed also as you kinda fall into it. The main fact for us was no outdoor space, the chairs which are in the picture at the front weren't even there to sit on in a space which you could breathe. The surrounding area looks extremely run down with practically no amenities however we were close to the beach so we could access that with a picnic. Due to this fact and tbe space we will not be returning all be it as a family we had a lovely time in your home being together. Mary thomson

Very well equipped-nothing was missing. The only problem was there is no garden and that is hard when you have a dog. Otherwise really good.

  • "The back yard is a bit optimistic in its description."

Not really worth mentioning really and certainly not spacious enough for more than one person or even a child. The only disappointment as the rest of the property was excellent in every respect.

The beach is on the door step ideal for dog walks. The house has everything that we needed. The board games provided and the smart TV kept us busy even on a rainy day. Beds were very comfy and we all had lots of room.

Perfectly clean and the owners are lovely! 2 seperate families and 2 dogs all under one roof and not cramped at all. Great location for travelling into the lakes and the beach is practically on your doorstep.....we will be back! Thank you Sun House for helping us make some memories for our kids!

It was exactly how it was advertised. Everything that you would need to make your stay a comfortable as possible....including board games and dvds:) I will and have already recommended this property to friends and family. With the beach and coastal walks a minute walk from the properties front door this made an excellent base for an enjoyable few days away, thank you :)

  • "The house is very spacious and was ideal for the 8 adults and two dogs."

All 4 bedrooms have comfy beds, plenty of room and storage and downstairs there is a large dining room and sitting room that accommodated us all easily. The kitchen is modern, as are both bathrooms and the house is nicely decorated throughout. The Ship Inn is a 100 yard walk away and the chip shop about 200 yards. What more can you ask for? I have no problem recommending this house, as we all had a great time there and will hopefully all go back again sometime.

  • "Lovely holiday cottage, extremely well equipped even down to providing bowls and towel for the dog."

Great base for exploring the lakes and Scotland. Also ideally situated in the village with the pub round the corner which serves excellent meals to takeaway or in the restaurant. The tearoom practically next door does an excellent breakfast and the beach is just across the road. Great holiday and have already booked to go back next year

We didn’t need to contact the owners whilst we were there as we had no issues at all. Perfect getaway for the family and would definitely stay again.

  • "We had a great time in this very well equipped cottage."

Would like to have had a cordless vacuum cleaner as the little Henry was too awkward for me to use on stairs and in bedrooms. There was also a problem with recycling as the bin was almost full on arrival and by day three we were having to use the public recycling bins near the public toilets at the beach. The general waste bin was also full on the day of departure. Although the ceiling heights are good the door frames are lower than standard and might be a problem for taller guests.

  • "A truly beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet coastal village."

Well furnished with quality beds, linens and kitchen equipment with the added bonus of the washing machine and tumble dryer. Kids were slightly disappointed that the games console had gone but it did get them to actually enjoy the scenery instead. 40 minutes to Keswick or Carlisle and only 5 miles to the nearest big supermarket. Local pub has great food and the village store has a fine array of sweets and ice cream. Loved our holiday here and can't recommend highly enough.

The house is decorated beautifully throughout and everything is to a high standard. The beds were so comfy and there was plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 children. There's a brilliant play park for children a 2 minute walk away, right next to the beach. It's a half HR drive from the lake District wildlife park which we went to and enjoyed. The hosts left a lovely bottle of wine and ice cream for us which was a lovely touch. The kitchen has all the plans and utensils you would need for cooking, and the dishwasher was a god send! It was spotlessly clean. It has no garden but being so close to the beach easily compensates for this. We loved the quiet beaches, paddling and flying kites and it is only half an hour from the northern lakes if you head inland. A great get away from it all place. We will definitely return.
