"Returned for our second visit to this lovely cottage with very secure garden with great summerhouse loved by my Golden Retriever Barney, plenty of lovely walks near by and places to visit."
I highly recommend this cottage and we will be back hopefully later this year and will be booking for Feb 2025.
"Spacious, comfortable cottage, very well equipped."
Garden is lovely, even in December. Our 2 dogs enjoyed having such a large garden to play in. Unfortunately log burner was not working, Owner informed before my stay and supplied 2 extra little electric heaters.
"Loved every minute of my stay here."
It's a well equipped property, in a quiet village. The garden is stunning and plenty of information is provided about the property and local walking routes, places to visit, where to eat etc. The photos really don't do it justice. After a difficult few months it was just what I needed. Now i'm fully rested and re-energised. All the stargazing I did definitely helped! The friendly and helpful community, made a nice change from the hustle and bustle of most places these days. Perfect location to explore surrounding areas too. I'm looking forward to planning my next visit here.
"Comfortable, clean and cosy."
Lovely quiet location, would definitely stay again.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Cummertrees cottage, it felt like home from home."
The location enabled us to travel easily to some lovely places, even though the weather wasn''t ideal. A very comfortable, cosy and well eqipped property, in fact the best we have ever stayed in. The garden was such a haven of peace and quiet and I have to say our sixteen year old four legged companion found a new lease of life within the totally safe environment!
"Another great week"

A lovely property everything was available we needed dogs loved the garden not so keen on the laminate floor but would bring runners when we stay again very comfortable and quiet and handy for visiting the area
"Lovely cottage with a superb garden and the surprise of a summer house."
Great thank you.
"We were really happy with the cottage, it exceeded our expectations and was extremely well equipped."
The garden was an added bonus and we loved the new summerhouse. We hope to rebook again next year.
"First, we were struck by the generosity of lots of teabags and variety of teas as well as cooking basics (salt, oil, herbs)."
We left loo roll as a thankyou! Everything very clean, comfortable but the garden was the outstanding bonus- enclosed, large, interesting planting, summerhouse, good views from the far end and pleasant seating areas plus a lot of lawn for the dog to bounce around on.
"This cottage has everything."
Easy parking outside. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen diner with easy to use appliances. A lovely cosy sitting room. Great bathroom with a powerful shower and an absolutely stunning garden with outside furniture and a summer house. I would throughly recommend this property. In addition there is so much to do nearby
"Loved staying at the place, didn't want to leave there, absolutely brilliant place, even the dogs loved it."
And hopefully be back sometime soon.
"7 Cummertrees is an excellent place to relax and a central base for exploring the Solway Firth."
The bungalow was spacious and very comfortable including lounge and sleeping area. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for the week. The outdoor space and garden was amazing. We loved it and so did our dogs! Annan is a good place to food shop and Galabank park is a well worth a visit where there are great woodland and river walks. We enjoyed it so much, we have already booked for next year!
"We gave the property 5 stars because it was comfortable, had a wonderful enclosed garden and perfectly placed for a lovely walk through woods to an excellent beach."
In other words ideal if you have a dog. we would certainly use this property again. Just a few minor suggestions only made to add perfect final touches to an excellent holiday cottage, the cooker could have been cleaned, some kitchen drawers wiped, the bin washed out and the hoover emptied as this did create a smell when used .The instruction with regard plumbing could be simplified to just say only put toilet paper down the toilet, all other items to go in the bin provided.
"We had a lovely week in this comfortabl wee cottage."
It has a beauriful enclosed garden that is a pleasure to sit in. There are some lovely walks in the area too. We'll be back.
"Another great week."
Judi and Bob lovely people. This is our 4th time being there and looking forward to October already. Fantastic accommodation.
"I would recommend anyone to book this cottage from walking in the door it was spotless couldn't of asked for better."
The garden was lovely nice sitting out at 7am with a coffee just watching the wild life and with it been enclosed my 2 dogs could go out and just wonder around granddaughters loved playing on the swing
"Spotlessly clean fully equipped cottage with enclosed garden for the dogs."
Hourly bus service to Dumfries Annan and Carlisle.
"Had to empty hoover and fit new bag, could have done with a mop for kitchen floor as weather was awful but that was just unfortunate but cottage is lovely and would like to come back in warmer times[if possible]."
Garden is great poppy the dog loved watching the rabbits from living room window.
"7 Cummertrees is a lovely cottage in a great location."
The cottage was clean, cosy and very well equipped. The big garden was great for our two Border Terriers to explore. Thank you Judi and Bob we really enjoyed our stay
"Another wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage."
Very peaceful and relaxing and only 5mins away from Annan. Ideal for lovely walks with the dog's. Would highly recommend it and hopefully see you next year.
"Really Lovely Cottage much bigger than we expected, the garden is wonderful so spacious our little dog loved it, the two horses which came to the top of garden were lovely one even put his head over and nuzzled the dog adorable, we walked through the woods everyday with the dog and very handy waste bin at entrance for dog waste, in all its an excellent cottage to stay in, just one thing wrong I sorted my waste out for each bin put non recycling in and put it out for collection, then when I sorted the rest out for the other bins both had lots of rubbish in which were non recycling, other than had a lovely holiday."
"Another great week at the cottage."
Beautiful cottage. Very peaceful and quiet. Looking forward to spending Christmas there.
"7 Cummertrees is a lovely, bright, very clean cottage with a beautiful big fully enclosed garden."
It had everything you need for you and your dog . It has a fantastic big shower that gets lovely and hot . There’s woodland walks less than a minutes walk away which take you to the beautiful village of powfoot and the sea . It’s an ideal quiet cottage and a good base for exploring the area.
"Delightful - a lovely garden - very comfortable cottage - very attractive, especially the interior"
We have rented cottages many times over the years and this is by far the best we have seen with exceptional facilities, garden, location and views.
"This was a lovely property and our dogs loved the garden!"
The property was nice and clean and was also easy to clean as it had hard floors almost throughout. The area was dark at night and lovely for watching stars!
"We loved this cottage and our grandkids particularly loved the garden."
So much space for them to play in at each end of the day. So handy for all the activities we had planned too.
"We had a lovely week at 7 Cummertrees."
The house feels homely and welcoming, with comfy beds, sofas and excellent shower. The garden especially was beautiful, our dogs loved it. Good walk in the nearby woods and a nice large park in Annan for walking dogs. If I were to make any suggestions to make life a little easier in the house, it would be a soap holder attachment in the shower, a long handled soft brush for the kitchen floor, and a new can opener! Attention is required re shower leaking from inside and making wall damp. That aside, I would definitely recommend a stay at 7 Cummertrees and would love to return some day.
"Just came back from a lovely stay at this cottage."
The garden is amazing and me and the dogs spent the majority of our stay enjoying that. Loved that I could walk through the woods and be in Powfoot in twenty minutes. Very comfortable beds and great shower. If I had to have one negative it would be that the sofas were pretty grubby and the cottage overall could do with a little tlc and maybe some new wine glasses.
"Enjoyed as usual"
"Fantastic cottage to stay at, we had 2 spaniels with us and they loved the gated garden, keeping them safely in."
Fab location too near enough to the beach and shops.
"The garden was beautiful and perfect for our two spaniels who spent the full time outside!"
Although the garden was full enclosed, the main gate has a gap at the bottom therefore any smaller dogs may be able to get out underneath.
"Have just returned from an Easter Weekend break at this delightful cottage."
We had just what we needed, a 3 night stay of total peace and quiet with lovely walks in the countryside and the beach with our 2 lively Springer Spaniels. The cottage was beautifully presented, very clean and with all you could possibly need and more for your stay. Garden was a delight and although our weather was a little mixed we made full use of it during our stay - our dogs even made friends with the two horses who popped their heads over the fence at the bottom of the garden from their field to say hello.
Lovely and clean and very homely. Everything you need in side and outside. The garden is huge and well kept our dogs just loved it.I met the owners when we arrived very friendly and welcoming. Will definatly be back. Excellent accomodation and all on one level.
"Good location and well equipped property."

"My sister and I, with my dog, enjoyed a three night break in 7 Cummertrees at the end of November."
The cottage was very warm and comfortable, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The garden was lovely, particularly when covered with snow on our first morning! The owner recommended lunch in the cafe at the Annandale Distillery Visitors' Centre as it is dog friendly. It is very spacious and clean and the food was very good.
"Only problem was the walk in shower as it had a little step to enter and no hand rail."
With me being disabled I found it difficult getting in and out.
"The cottage was lovely."
It had everything we needed .The garden was fantastic. The dogs had a fantastic time. Will definitely miss that garden.
"Lovely cottage extremely comfortable."

About the location
Dumfries 15.7 miles; Carlisle 20 miles
The town of Annan, a former harbour, lies on the banks of the River Annan, in East Dumfries and Galloway, and is steeped in history, with the area once the site of Roman camps and the workplace of the writer Thomas Carlyle. Each year, the town celebrates the Riding of the Marches, in honour of the Royal Charter bestowed by King James V, which involves parades, massed pipe bands and competitions. The area around Annan has many small towns, picture postcard villages and hamlets, plus beautiful unspoilt coastline, with sandy beaches and hidden coves. Visit nearby Caerlaverock Castle, one of Scotland's finest ruined castles or Annandale Distillery. Take a day trip and marvel at the majestic architecture of the grand abbeys of Melrose and Jedburgh or visit the northern Lake District and the historic Hadrian’s Wall. Annan is an ideal base for exploring this lovely area.
