Within the Lake District National Park, you can find Low Melbecks Cottage resting on the edge of the Skiddaw Fells, west of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Offering contemporary accommodation for a family or group of four, expect to enjoy returning each day to your home-from-home in the Lakes.

Enter into the kitchen/diner, providing a modern take on the classic country kitchen-style, with stone tiled flooring it's a bright and open space, with plenty of room to prep a delicious dish.

Sit at the dining table with soft grey seats and enjoy your evening meal before retiring to the sitting room.

After coming down a few steps you come into a truly snug space, complete with plush sofas which draw you in, and a woodburning stove within a painted fireplace to warm you up, watch your favourite film on the Smart TV and relax.

For some more entertainment head out to the external games room in a conservatory-style outhouse which holds a pool table, because a little healthy competition never hurt anyone!

Withdraw to your bedroom on the first floor when it's time to catch some rest, choosing from either the twin room or the king-size, both benefitting from homely and thoughtful décor, creating a perfect place to wind down.

The next morning, make use of the sparkling bathroom, offering a bath and a shower over, with tiled walls and wood flooring to finish.

When you're not enjoying the garden in the summer months, making use of the patio furniture to sit with a morning coffee as you listen to the stream which borders the area trickle along, set about exploring the wonders of the Lakes.

Enjoy walking around Bassenthwaite Lake, visit The Lakes Distillery near the north end of the lake for a tour around the artisan warehouse and distillery, or head to the Lake District Wildlife Park where over 100 species of animals live in the 25-acres.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
