If you can tear yourself away from this superb base, choose to dine in one of the local gastro pubs or venture to the local farm shop to picking up any last minute essentials, alternatively, travel to the market town of Penrith to find further amenities.

Better acquaint yourself with your surroundings by venturing to the nearby Ullswater, where you can experience the waters from the steamer or brush up on the local history by paying a visit to Penrith Castle, Cumbria’s stone circles of Castlerigg, Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens and Lowther Castle & Gardens.

Moreover, The Lake District is a playground for thrill seekers, from gorge walking, abseiling, white water tubing or the calmer kayaking or archery.

Avid ramblers can don their walking boots can explore the mountain peaks of Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Blencathra and further afield to Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.
