  • "Lovely property with period features."

Very comfortable and well equipped. Great views -we enjoyed sitting on the terrace even in February! Great location with easy access to the railway path into town and many other walks. Close to the 555 bus stop to Grasmere and beyond. We had a lovely stay and look forward to returning!

  • "The apartment was very comfortable and well placed for exploring the area."

There was everything we needed, and a very well equipped kitchen. Due to the time of year, we very much appreciated how easy the heating was to control, and the additional heater provided for the main sitting room was very useful. The apartment has pleasant views of the hills, and we very much enjoyed our stay. Would love to return in the summer to make use of the summer house and garden area.

  • "Generally excellent."

TV is tricky. Some of the additional help in the booklet allows you to work around it eventually. I know it's difficult to clean with the high ceilings but the cobwebs hanging down in the bedroom particularly could do with removing. Superb views and good location are this property's best points.

Dear Visitor, Thank you for your helpful feedback. We have spoken to our manager and cleaner and a schedule of cleaning the ceilings for cobwebs will be put in place. We hope you enjoyed your visit nonetheless. Kind regards, Jo Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at Grisedale View."

We enjoyed it so much last November we booked it again for this year. The property is so spacious and homely with all mod cons. It was a wonderful place to sit out Storm Debi! Its also a very manageable walk along the cycle track out of Keswick and close to the bus stops if either you don't fancy the walk or if you want to go further afield. Maybe Windermere Grasmere or from the town, Borrowdale. Of course there are sooo many walks and fells to choose from and that's before you check out the lake and the shops. Will definitely be back.

So glad you enjoyed your stay at Grisedale View. Thanks for letting us know. Property Owner

  • "Another fabulous stay."

The property was as sparklingly clean as back in April. Only comments: A more comfortable chair (or two) in the breakfast room would be appreciated for those who don't both want to watch TV and do enjoy the view. We had TV issues. Thought I had tried everything, so property manager called the technician who promptly sorted it out. The extension code in the property handbook was incorrect (I hadn't tried that as it had been the same for three years). Corrected it in pencil! Back next April!

Thanks for your feedback, we're so pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Sorry you had a problem with the TV, we do find it is better to watch TV using the Apps icon. Glad to hear you'll be back next year. Property Owner

  • "Excellent spacious accommodation in a marvellous setting."

The property was very well equipped and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. (. The only real downside was parking, as the entrance was quite narrow and turning the car round to exit ( onto a bend on a busy road ) was difficult but possible. Backing out onto the main road could have been very dangerous ) Well worth considering!!

  • "We had a fantastic stay and loved the terrace and summer house."

The kitchen was a good size and had everything we needed, although we had to Google how to use the hob as there was no welcome pack/instructions. Great location with lovely views and an easy 20 or so minutes walk to the centre of Keswick (bus stop just down the road too). We were exceptionally lucky with the weather being glorious sun all week. This made sitting out on the terrace having dinner the highlight of our trip. It'd still be a very nice place to stay in different weather but not quite as special for us.

Dear Mr S We are so glad to you had such a fantastic stay at Grisedale View and that you were able to enjoy sunny dinners on the terrace. There should have been a welcome book in the lounge with instructions and information about Grisedale View and this has guidance in it on how to use the hob. We will check with our local manager about its whereabouts. Kind regards, Jo and Philip Cuttell Property Owner

The bed is very comfortable indeed! It was very nice to have a hot bath after walking the fells, to soften those stiff legs again!

  • "Our fourth visit, this time for two (mostly dry) weeks."

Our "home from home" already booked for October. Couldn't believe we were the first in since November-the owners have been busy in the property. The place was sparkling. Love the clever kitchen re-vamp, though the hob was tricky at first (handbook above oven helped). All the negative points made previously have been dealt with: bathroom tap fixed, wi-fi boosted in sitting room, sitting room radiator working (nice and cosy).

Thank you Peter - it's lovely to have Grisedale View appreciated so warmly. Enjoy your trip in October. Jo and Philip Property Owner

  • "As stated in previous reviews, the Wi-Fi is temperamental."

The accuracy of the agency contact information in the property folder requires updating (the contact name and number are incorrect). We required to contact them regarding a serious plumbing problem in the kitchen. In fairness, the named contact themselves contacted the agency on our behalf and the plumbing problem was fixed very quickly and satisfactorily.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay in Grisedale View."

Any less than 100% ratings are simply unemotional responses to the specific categories. In actual fact it was like home from home and the wobbly bathroom tap or the iffy Wifi didn't in any way detract from the comfort of our stay. We did have a little bit of difficulty finding the property and drove up and down the road a few times before we located it. However it was good to know that we had parked the car correctly when we read the instructions in the Welcome Pack! However none of this in any way detracted from the wonderful time we spent at Grisedale View. The apartment is so spacious and well equipped. The layout is wonderfully disorientating. We mastered it internally after a few days but have yet to get our heads round how it fits in with the other adjoining properties! The views are wonderful and to be able to sit in a cosy, heated summerhouse in November with a glass of wine and watch the sunset was simply gorgeous. We chose to walk too and from Keswick but practically outside the accommodation there are bus stops in both directions. We hardly used the car at all. Keswick can be extremely busy but Grisedale View is situated about a 20 minute walk from the centre and is a wonderful place to retreat to after a day on the hills or in the town. We can't wait to come back and are planning to book again next autumn.

  • "A lovely property in which we were very comfortable ."

The location of the key to the property was not as described, but we did find it . The bathroom tap was very loose despite having been reported several times . The living room radiator did not come on whilst we were there which was a nuisance because we had some wet weather and needed it . Also access to the property was off the main road and necessitated reversing into the driveway .

  • "Another super week at Grizedale View."

I can only follow on from previous comments here and in the visitor book: there is a musty smell in cupboards and bedding/towels, most windows won’t open and wifi in the lounge is non existent. Hopefully after some time to “ refresh” over the winter, these points will have been remedied before we return in April. We really do love the property and locality.

  • "Our second, and another wonderful, stay."

Already booked for September. So sorry to hear about the delays re the new kitchen-hope it works out for you soon. Didn’t spoil our stay though! Advice to pull up an kerb and reverse in would be very helpful to first time guests. The, fairly new, neighbours have worked so hard in their garden and improved the view. Looking forward to seeing the progress. A pity we can’t “fuss” their adorable dog, but do understand that some guests might not appreciate him!!! So convenient for Keswick (if you can walk the 2km) and bus. Didn’t move the car all week.

  • "We found it difficult to locate."

The view of the property was hidden by 3 other parked cars when we arrived - belonging to the upstairs flat. This made entering and leaving the property fairly difficult, let alone having to get out onto the busy main road. Luckily, these people left on the Sunday and we were able to turn around on the premises before heading out. We think it would be useful to give a picture of the property as seen from the road on the joining instructions plus mentioning that it is directly before a large road sign if coming from Windermere or, just behind if coming from Keswick. The latter would only show the back of the sign. Other than that, the dishwasher was broken. This was mended quite quickly but no note was left to say that it had been done so we continued to wash up by hand - until the last day! Maybe advise the tenants when a job has been completed? Other than that, we loved the flat. Home from home.

The terrace needs a real tidy up and weeding. If we’d been in more with bad weather I’d have done some. Very very strong detergent smell lingering on all the bedding- we’ve booked to go again and will take our own! Excellent location for the buses. Main road location but very quiet inside. Front door extremely squeaky.
