  • "Had an amazing stay at Camerton Hall Cottage."

Anything we could have wished for was already provided. Extra blankets for cosy evenings in, including one for your dog. Step out of the door straight onto a country lane and whichever direction you walk you find yourself in countryside. The River Derwent is only 2 minutes away and is a lovely walk. There are no streetlights nearby, so the stars are amazing and there are so many owls around! All in all we had a fabulous time and would definitely come back next time!

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and look forward to welcoming you back to Camerton Hall Cottage. Property Owner

About the location

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
