“The Meal House is a fantastic place to relax and re-charge.”

So many little pluses like a nice little cake collection and bottle of wine when you arrive to help you setle in make all the difference. I would recommend this place to anyone. You must try it.

Wythmoor Farm Cottages

A couple of outstanding cottages, set on Wythmoor Farm a Grade II listed building, in the hamlet of Stockdalewath, near Dalston, nine miles from the Great Border city of Carlisle. These superb, sandstone cottages are set on a non-working farm in beautifully rolling countryside and have been carefully created from old farm buildings, have exposed beams and have been furnished to a beautiful standard. With eco central heating, both are cosy and welcoming. Outside, each cottage has the shared use of an enclosed courtyard together with access to the owners’ garden. By arrangement with the owner, guests can enjoy a little pampering from the exclusive beauty salon on-site, and will even bake a delicious afternoon tea, individually prepared following your pampering. Flowing through the hamlet is the River Roe and there are lots of lovely paths and quiet country lanes to explore. The cottages are ideally placed to visit Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall or Carlisle Racecourse and of course, the beautiful Lake District and the Solway Coast. A lovely pair of cottages, ideal for families and couples at any time of the year.
