  • "A beautiful converted church."

It had everything for a holiday. A well thought out place. The kitchen was well equipped. Great for the kids with a sky cinema. Only one downside no secure garden for the dogs but the owner did explain why this is not possible. Would definitely recommend the cottage. We will be come back next time we plan a holiday in the area

  • "A really lovely property, big, spacious and well equipped."

Family orientated. The garden is partially enclosed and our dogs were safe enough to run around without close supervision, and it really is quite fascinating walking around the 17th century gave yard. This house has a really nice feel about it, it’s very serene, and it’s HUGE! Other reviews mentioned some negatives, but we did not find anything wrong with any amenities. We would say some of the beds/pillowed are a bit older and it was noticeable for some of our party. But don’t let that put you off, as it really was a small observation but with this corrected it would be 10 star. The property is well positioned, it’s a short walk to the beach mainly all off road with the public footpath running alongside the river which is right next to the house. It’s very quiet with little passing traffic. We would book again without any hesitation!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely think about using cummerttees again for another family gathering."

Everything was amazing, we just had a couple of notes, some bigger bath towels would give more of a luxurious experience in keeping with the rest of the house, and the towels in general need replacing. The dish washer was not working very well during our visit, probably just needed topped up with rinse aid, which was in the cupboard, however perhaps this should be done during the changeover and finally a larger selection of glasses would have been expected for a house of this size. Other than these small points we thought absolutely everything in the house was perfect. We loved the space and decor and out family had an absolutely fabulous time during our stay.

  • "We had a wonderful stay here, at this very special place."

It was ideal for us to celebrate a special birthday with family and friends. 2 things I think could be looked at, would be the quality and size of the guests towels. We thought they were on the small size! Also up to date information on the surrounding area, activities and take away menus would help. The ones in the drawer were old and out of date. These were only minor things, The whole place was well equipped, warm and comfortable. The house has some lovely features too. Everyone enjoyed themselves staying here. We hope to come back again another time. Thank you for a great stay!

The decorations were perfect and we're the icing on the cake. I will recommend this to anyone wanting a break away as a group. Myself and the entire group would like to give a big thank you to the owners for allowing us to spend such a magical time together. There was nothing to fault and would definitely come back.

  • "A fantastic holiday home."

Lots of room for us all, couple, 4 boys, Granny and 2 dogs. Lovely and warm in October half term! The kitchen was very well equipped having everything we needed and more! Could do with better/ extra brighter lighting as it was raining for almost our entire stay so there wasn't much natural light coming in! For the price paid the bed sheets and towels need replacing as they were quite worn and some pillow cases had holes in them. All in all, a lovely and unique place to stay.

  • "The church was well situated between Annan & Dumfries on a reasonably quiet road near the sea/Solway Firth."

Two tellies (one with a games console) allowed guests to watch their favourites. Rooms were very clean & more than adequate. And any query with the owner was politely and accurately answered. We all (6 adults and 2 children) all loved the week in Dumfries & Galloway.

  • "The converted church was so spacious for 6 adults 2 children and a dog."

There was so much space and a very well equipped kitchen with a separate utility room. A mile walk down to the beach. A very peaceful location ideal for a large family. The whole experience from booking in to leaving was well taken care of and a very clean place to stay. 3 separate bathrooms as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The area around Annan has many small towns, picture postcard villages and hamlets, plus beautiful unspoilt coastline, with sandy beaches and hidden coves. Visit nearby Caerlaverock Castle, one of Scotland's finest ruined castles or Annandale Distillery.
